Big government liberalism will fail every time it’s tried, whether Democrats like Carter and Clinton try it, or whether Republicans like George W Bush tries it. Let bankers make the decision on their own. They know better than government officials, especially if they don’t have government agencies ready and designed to take bad decisions (such as risky loans) off their hands (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae).

It is high time that we ask our Republican candidates in the primary the hard question: Are you a small government Reagan Republican, or are you a big government Bush Republican? I’m afraid that McCain may be the latter, while Sarah Palin has PROVED to be the former.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
June 17, 2002

Bush-

And so, therefore, education is a critical component of increasing ownership throughout America. Financial education, housing counseling, how to help people understand that there are unscrupulous lenders. And so one of the things we’re going to do is we’re going to promote education, the education of owning a home, the education of buying a home throughout our society. And we want to fully implement the Section 8 housing program, homeownership program. The program will provide vouchers that first-time home buyers can use to help pay their mortgage or apply to their downpayment.

McCain comes back with, "Bush isn't running. I am. And I encouraged taming Sallie Mae and Freddie Mac while the dems and others let them run free. Where were you, obama?"

I remember this being touted and remember thinking how stupid it was for him push.
This was Bush trying to "bridge the gap" with the dems....and this is what we get from it.

Ever notice that when Bush is prevaricating (as in the WMD part of his Iraq speech in 2003) or when he’s talking about domestic policy, he sounds like he has marbles in his mouth? The only time he ever speaks distinctly is when he speaks his own convictions. In this video clip, he knows that what he is saying is idiotic, so his brain can’t force his mouth to speak the words clearly.

Savage played an even worse speach from Bush (it might be a continuation of this one) where he specifically talked about “obstacles” to home ownership such as downpayment and contractual terms, and how he wants to reduce those “obstacles”. It turns out that those obstacles were there for a reason!

The clips are pretty damning.

Bush promised a lot on the way in and delivered very little. He promised no nation building, yet he has embarked on one of the most expensive nation building programs ever. He promised Social Security reform. He ran from that. He's paying off big pharmaceutical with African aids programs and pschyopharmaceuticals to control school children. He promoted the big government no child left behind education. He is pushing expansion of NATO to the borders of Russia. He has encouraged illegal immigration especially from Mexico. He has put Border Patrol agents in jail for protecting the borders. He called American citizens who help the Border Patrol vigilantes. Face it, Bush is a big fat New World Order liberal.

He is in cahoots with Barney Frank. The other night in his televised speech, he tried to scare Americans into a huge bailout. He provoked images of financial collapse. The only collapse are the crooked mortgage companies. Let them collapse. Maybe the illegals will go home.
