Download Orbit and it can capture a youtube vid for you to save on your hard drive.

How do you save those videos?

If you're running Safari on a Mac, then while viewing the YouTube video you want...

  1. Open the Activity window and double click on the largest file listed. This will save the video to your download folder in flash format.
  2. Append the suffix .flv to the file to identify it as flash video.
  3. Get a free flash viewer such as VLC if you want to watch the file locally on your Mac.
