WASHINGTON - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin repeatedly failed to cite a newspaper or magazine when asked what she had read regularly before John McCain picked her as his running mate, saying only that she had read "most of them."
Palin also said that she doesn't believe that the media's coverage of her has been sexist. "It would be sexist if the media were to hold back and not ask me about my experience, my vision, my principles, my values," said Palin, Alaska's governor....

I found it surprising, to say the least. And I still don’t get it.
Doesn't anyone wonder why these stupid questions are only being directed to one of the four candidates?
Good answer from Palin. She avoided even the resemblance of whining.
Yes, the coverage has been sexist, but more: it has been egregiously hateful. Nevertheless she has to shrug this stuff off: no candidate can afford to complain about the media, no matter how well founded the complaints.
Exposing the media bias is our job, not hers.
Actually, the question was “where do you get your worldview”.
Katy desperately wanted to hear “the Bible” as an answer.
Well, duh. Only one of the four has no national track record.
I don’t tell folks where I buy my underwear.
“Palin doesn’t specify where she gets her news”
Somebody call the cops......
I don’t wonder. It’s all to be expected.
Someone that attempts to live a righteous life is going to be attacked by those who don’t want an example to involuntarily self-compare against.
Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested, “Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?” Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.
In other words...Alaskans are not stupid yokels Katie.
Palin knew where the question was coming from and trumped Katie by answering it instead of giving her a list.
Wow, of course she wouldn’t specify.
She knows all about the new Red Journalism.
(BTW, she’s got a degree in it.)
We can pretend this stuff doesn’t matter, but it does. She will still draw alot of votes but some of her performances are inexcusable for a politician at this level.
I count two ..
Stop The Hate!!
If there is a state that should be made fun of, it’s Arkansas (woo hoo, we’re better than Mississippi!), yet I didn’t see the media doing that when Clinton was running for President.
An implication that Gov Palin needs to state exactly what she reads... why?
AP knows just how to interest stupid people, and we all know why.
If she had given a specific source, she’d have been accused of being biased against other sources.
In 32 years of following the news, I’ve never seen a public figure treated with less respect by journalists than Sarah Palin. They weren’t even this nasty to Clarence Thomas.
IMHO, Sarah made Katie look pretty foolish suggesting that Katie’s question implied that Alaska was some foreign country where the people don’t know what’s going on with the rest of “civilized” America.
She can’t come out and endorse FOX news...and if she even hinted that coverage of her was biased there would be howls of denial and then they’d really let her have it while pegging her as a whiner.
This is full contact politics; she has her Big Girl britches on and she’s ready to play!
