DiCaprio, Berry among celebs getting out the vote

NEW YORK -How do you get kids to vote? Just say no. Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Eva Longoria Parker and other stars are using reverse psychology to get young people into voting booths on election day.

In a new public service announcement that hit YouTube and other online outlets Wednesday, DiCaprio says: "Please — just don't vote." Others echo his plea: "Don't vote." But the stars soon twist the message: Voting is a civic duty and the only way to effect change.

"I mean, seriously, ... after this whole video — if you're not gonna vote, I don't even know what to say. ... You know you have to vote," says DiCaprio, who produced the PSA.

Also appearing: Ellen DeGeneres, Forest Whitaker, Dustin Hoffman, Demi Moore, Sarah Silverman, Jonah Hill, Ashton Kutcher, Courteney Cox, Laura Linney, Natalie Portman, Jamie Foxx, Usher, Kyra Sedgwick and will.i.am.

When are these fools going to learn they are just actors and really aren’t as smart as the people they play in the movies or on TV? Case in point, Dustin Hoffman. He can play a really smart guy on the screen, but have you ever seen him do an interview? Makes a bad name for the empty suit.

If they get Hussein elected...I hope he takes every penny they’ve got to help “poor people”...in other countries.

The problem for the Democrats is that their sixteen year propagandathon goes largely wasted as kids leave high school and college still not voting in large enough numbers to overturn those who have wised up to what the real world is all about.

If only the left could capitalize on those young mush filled brains, they would own the world.

When someone urges that we get out the vote, they are knowingly or unknowingly championing the idea that a Democrat majority show up to the polls.

Democrats have registered voters by any means possible, and outrank registered Republicans almost everywhere.

I’m quite happy to allow only the folks who are truly motivated on their own to vote.

I do not urge everyone to vote. Probably never will...

A priceless idea. I support it 100%.

“reverse psychology”

That’s hilarious. These dim bulbs probably don’t even know what that means.

They should also tell them election day is on Nov 5.

I don’t want my vote cancelled out by a bunch of spoiled brats that have to have the latest IPOD and can’t take a minute to quit texting to look up and say Hello to you. And it looks like most of these young fools are going to vote for “hope” and “change.”

With a few exceptions, Gen Y and the milennials really annoy me. There are so damn many of them compared to us Xers too.

Let me guess - getting out the vote is just another way of saying 'making sure people register and vote Obama'. I mean, they wouldn't want to look uncool after all.

"I mean, seriously, ... after this whole video — if you're not gonna vote, I don't even know what to say. ... You know you have to vote," says DiCaprio, who produced the PSA.

I mean, c'mon duuuude, it's so simple, like, whoa, ya gotta do it, cuz if you, well, you don't, well, you know, ya gotta. Well, I'm convinced.

Doesn't that just PISS you off!?

Think about the hundreds of hours spent trying to figure out what's going on in this country, who's telling the truth, who's lying, what's good, what's bad, etc. Then you (we) actually have a partial clue what's might be going on and go to vote for something or someone to keep this country running in a respectable manner.

Then on the other hand, you've got some moron goober who sees Eva Longoria or some other pop icon dork telling them to vote for NOBAMA.

"Kewl... Eva likes NOBAMA, that's who I'm gonna vote for!"

That clueless dork cancels out your hard-researched vote! AMAZING... JUST AMAZING!!

They should have a weighted voted system. Before you vote, ask a bunch of basic questions about the country and government. If you get 100%, your vote counts as 1 vote. If you get 10%, you get 1/10 of a vote!

I think it would probably be a 90/10 split in every election in our favor with this "NEW & IMPROVED" voting system!

My wife and I are X’ers (37 years old for me) and we were watching the The American Experience show about Reagan on PBS of all networks the other night and were thinking back about how strong and inspring he was back then and how we need someone like that more than ever now. These Y and Milennials wouldn’t know real leadership if it slapped in the face. If it turns out these young punks and spoiled brats were the difference in this election, I will never look at them the same. When I go to Best Buy and some young punk waits on me, I’ll think Obama voter. When I go to the grocery store and some kid is checking out my groceries I’ll think the same. And I think I’ll stay far away from my college Alma-Mater because of the same reason.

Yuck!
