New Orleans (AP) -- New Orleans police said Thursday they are investigating the slaying of a 25-year-old San Francisco community activist found shot in the head in a hurricane-battered part of the city.
Kirsten Brydum had arrived in the city two days before her body was found Saturday morning in a desolate part of the city's 9th Ward neighborhood, said Marlon Defillo, assistant superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department.

That’s sad, my prayers for her family. NO is still a dangerous place. Even back when we used to go to NO for vacation (in the 80s and 90s) I would not have walked around in most places.

I don’t know. Is a community activist the same as a community organizer? When words lose their meaning they can be used to describe anything. And assuming there was some sort of agitating going on why would a white girl from California be doing it in the black part of New Orleans?
Who knows.......But those nostril piercings must get kinda frosted with snot in cold weather........Maybe thats why she stuck to N.O.............
Tragic but the world is filled with such tragic incidents to ideologically driven kids such as her.......
