Fresh from the most-watched vice-presidential debate in history, GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin will appear at a Burlingame brunch fundraiser Sunday.

Organizers said Friday they expect about 1,500 people, a capacity crowd, to hear Palin speak at the Hyatt Regency shortly before noon. Tickets are no longer available. ...

"We're trying to find room for an extra 200 people,'' said Kristen Heuter, who is leading the fundraising effort. Heuter and local GOP party officials said the phones have been ringing off the hook since Thursday night's debate, which was seen by 69.9 million people, a record for a vice-presidential debate. Viewership topped the presidential debate by nearly 18 million people.

On Saturday, Palin is scheduled to hold a rally at the Home Depot Center in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson and attend a fundraiser.

There are lots of Republicans in CA, and we have $$ to give to the campaign. Yeah, San Fransicko and Mexico (I mean LA) will likely swing the state for Zero, but it's not like there is no value in coming here.

I agree. She should be in MI, PA and Ohio.

She’ll have to compete with the day laborers...or maybe Biden, since he ‘hangs out’ at home depots...lol

What the he** is going on in the McCain campaign? They abandon Michigan when Palin wants to fight it out and send her to California where Reagan himself probably couldn’t win in this day and age. They are driving me crazy!!

Fund raising, plain & simple. Gov Palin is McCain’s cash cow (figuratively speaking, of course).

Not just California.

Carson. I’m pretty familiar with Carson — it’s a very bold move.

Imagine taking Manila, moving it to Southern California, and dropping it down smack dab, between Long Beach and Compton.

Serious bold move. This sort of thing could really help Republicans. This is how elections can be won.

I’m tempted to drive there. :)

there is no value in coming here.

Boy, every day counts.
NH, Oh, MN, Pa, Nev, would be a whole lot better place to spend some time and raise money.

Sarah Palin will appear at a Burlingame brunch fundraiser Sunday.

Not sure where you get the idea that the money can go to Mccain but it can certainly go to RNC coffers.

She can raise money for the RNC, but it can’t go to McCain/Palin
Better off raising votes and spending time in the battleground States. There’s money to raise there too.

Why would they bother to send her to California?

Because they're all idiots. The only true political geniuses around are right here on Free Republic.

Just got a note from a gal in OC who left at 11a for this gig and is afraid she may not get in or caught in traffic/parking Hell.

I'm told the Pensacola appearance Tuesday may swell from 1K to over 12K.

Maybe theres are some candidate that can pick up a seat in that area and just needs a boost from a high profile republican showing up.

I can live with Mccain losing, what I can’t live with is two more years of Democrats mucking things up.

From the article...

When she arrives in the Bay Area, Palin can expect to be greeted by hundreds of protesters outside the Burlingame hotel. Democratic party officials and Bay Area anti-war groups are planning to hold an anti-Palin rally.
