why does the Dispatch describe Graig E. Kluge as “a Cleveland Heights real-estate investment manager”...when he’s an attorney?

You broke the code. OB is an attorney. Joe Biden is an attorney. John McCain is NOT an attorney. GWB is NOT an attorney. Tom Coburn is NOT an attorney. etc. etc.

There is the bicameral world. And there is the world of individual consciousness.

“Folks, there is not a chance in the world that Obama would have a 7 point lead in Ohio. Where do they get this crap?”

From my corner of the world in Ohio, 0bama IS gaining ground - and fast. As far as I’m concerned, this poll is accurate. The turning point was the bailout. 0bama came off smelling like a rose and people really do believe he orchestrated it to everyone’s advantage.

People who are economically depressed DO want their own house value to plummet by $30K or $50K so that their mortgage is affordable (and if it’s not, it’s Bush’s fault). As one guy put it, “If they reduce the value of my house which is going down anyway, I’ll be able to stimulate the economy.” How can you fight that kind of logic? That’s one thing that I feel a lot of FReepers don’t understand - many voters are voting on emotion, not fact. They admittedly don’t read; they admittedly don’t research. They just want something different and there is no thinking beyond that. I know people who didn’t understand why 0bama wasn’t elected POTUS after the primary, for cryin’ out loud - they didn’t understand a GE was to follow (and yes, some of these are homeowners raising children).

There is a reason analysis showed Biden spoke at a lower educational level than Palin.

Never, ever underestimate the power of collective emotion.

See, that there is why Obama is ahead in the polls. It is ignorant fools like that chemical technician.

He unfortuneately represents a large portion of ignorant Americans who firmly believe Obama and the Dems have NOTHING to do with Fannie and Freddie. It’s all Bush, McCain and the Republicans.

Also, as I noted above, the existence of third-party candidates cuts the effect in half — someone who simply can’t vote Obama for racist reasons has options other than voting for McCain (while still avoiding the stigma of being too lazy or apathetic to vote at all).

“The reputed “Tom Bradley” effect? That was then, this is now. We're a generation removed from that election, and too much has changed in the electorate. I don't think we can count on it. “

Younger people might push the button but older folks which are the MAJORITY will be hesitating. Quite a few Hiltelry supporters still aren't over how the Obomination threw her under the bus.

yes we do. Sarah certainly does. that’s why she got thousands of people to come to her rallies even though she basically repeated the same stuff from her convention speech.

Ok, we all know about the massive fraud. Doesn’t look like anything is being done about it. And where are the Republicans hiding? Seems to me they are making McCain/Palin haul all the water with little help.

“Bush carried Ohio by two points in 2004 and by four points four years earlier.”

Rasmussen and SurveyUSA both show McCain ahead +1. McCain will win Ohio.

I did some calculations. Please see my post # 53. This poll is absolute BS.

Not sure but this could be a trend...but the blame for this “if the economy goes south vote for Democrat” mentality belongs soley to the GOP/RNC. The spineless lowlifes in both houses of congress refuse to take a stand, market their ideas and will cave in at the drop of a hat.

“There is only one candidate in US history who won more votes in a Presidential election than John F. Kerry.”

Yes, he’s our current President.

I just backtracked those internal figures and i was right, to get those internals its an 11% overpoll of Dems.

The figures would work out as 44% Dem, 33% Rep, and 23% Indie, so yes this poll is total bull.

I agree with you on spineless GOP/RNC. If only they had a thimble of the courage that Sarah has.

Sarahcuda should continue the Terrorists / Mob ties. McCain needs to tie Obama to Jimmy Carter. There are a lot of young voters either not alive or to young to remember the 1997-1980 economy. Odd/even gas lines, 17% Mortgage rates, inflation 7-13%. Decimated Military, hostage crisis.

Yup, just got done dissecting another PROPAGANDA POLL.

In the poll:

Obama loses 18% of Hillary Clinton Voters

Obama only holds 84% of his base (Gore and Kerry got over 90%, they lost by the way)

Obama has a 13% lead with women (will NOT win women by 13% on election day, I will eat one of my pinball machines if he does)

Obama winning Independents 43-41 (good luck with THAT holding up in November)

Poll DOES NOT list breakdown of party identity, as you said they had to wildly oversample dems to get this result.

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED

That’s the best way to help McCain. Dismiss the polls.

Also this polls does not have numbers from after the VP Debate.

IIRC the article mentioned that the period covered by the poll spanned the VP debate.

Watching and arguing over the accuracy of the polls doesn’t help anything, we need to get out there and work.

Your last statement is absolutely correct.

But we ignore these polls at our peril. They are a warning. There are a lot of misguided, misinformed, and downright stupid people out there. Most of them still get their information from the MSM, which is overwhelmingly pro-Obama. I remember in the run-up to the '06 elections there were many on FR who spent a lot of time and energy trying to convince themselves that the polls just couldn't be right, that there was NO WAY the electorate would throw out "true conservatives" like Jim Talent, Rick Santorum, Conrad Burns, George Allen, J. D. Hayworth, and scores of others in favor of liberal 'Rats. It just couldn't happen. But it did. And then, of course, the refrain we heard on FR wasn't that conservatives lost, it was because these people were really "RINOs".

We aren't doing ourselves any favors by fooling ourselves again. There are many, many people out there who are buying into the appeal of a gussied-up socialist-Marxist, prettied up by the media and the stupidity of many voters. Our job now is to resolve to GOTV for the most viable opposition candidates to the extremist liberals, starting with ourselves.

Yes, that is why Obama crushed Hillary clinton in the democratic primaries earlier this year.

His economic arguments are so much better than everyone else.

Oh wait. . . .
