Tomorrow is the last day to register in many states.
MOST, if not 99.8%+ of us have already registered or know that we are registered to vote next month. But if for some reason you're not, or not 100% certain (maybe you made a move across states or 1/2 the country recently, in the midst of a family member's terminal illness/death, like my spouse and I - maybe you just moved counties or provinces...maybe you have a teenager who has turned 18 since the last election that you need to nudge, or maybe you have an assisted living grandparent/parent/relative, that may have moved into a home across counties in your state (want to make sure they're in the right precinct)??
Or maybe - you know 1-2 folks that you are working with that are leaning to voting McCain, but did you ever ask if they are actually registered to vote? If they are undecided at this point - let's face it - they may not even be registered...
So, I've compiled a list of states that close registration TOMORROW! They need to be hand-delivered or post-marked tomorrow...LAST CHANCE!!!!!
.................................
CLOSES MONDAY, OCTOBER 6th:
Arizona
Arkansas
Colorado
District of Columbia
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Indiana
Kentucky
Louisiana
Michigan
Mississippi
Ohio*
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Those in bold are swing states.
Please note that the following states close tommorow, but have in person exceptions:
Montana (or same day at elections office)
Utah (in person Tue, Oct. 28)
-----------------------------------------
Upcoming this week:
October 7:
Illinois
New Mexico
October 10:
Oklahoma
New York
North Carolina
October 11: Delaware
Last chance to get these folks signed up!!! Make sure everyone you know and might vote for McCain is registered!!!
Am I mistaken or did you leave off California from your list?
Uh - is California Oct 20th?
Dang I better get going , I just moved.
Just to note - my sis changed addys here in TX since the last presidential election. She hasn’t voted since 2004.
State law says she has to either change her addy (online) by OCT 6th, tomorrow, OR go to her old precinct to vote.
She has no idea what her voter reg has as her addy, but knows her old addy and new addy are in the same precinct - LUCKILY (very small town in Texas - only 1-2 precints total). But, there may be some out there in TX that have moved precincts, counties, etc since their last vote...
This change, in county only, can be made online...it takes just a minute or so and may save you several minutes of running from precinct to precinct on election day...But it HAS to be done on/by Oct 6th...Go online now and fix it to save yourself time in the car and gas driving around ;)
just a friendly TX reminder...maybe those from other states now their laws/rules...
FOR TEXANS....are you registered????? check here:

In TX - if you need only an “in-county” change of addy, go online here ASAP by/on tomorrow:

If you are in a new county or new voter to TX, you will need to register here ASAP!!!! and mail with postmark tomorrow!!!:

Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the reminder. If you live in New Hampshire, you can register at the polls on election day. Bring your ID, and proof of citizenship and residence if you have them. You can also sign an affidavit of citizenship, residency, etc. but be prepared for some follow up from the state if you do.
Thank you! I hadn’t seen solicitors out there attempting to register voters. I’ll see if I can do it online. Haven’t voted in a while.
I hope (I’m sure you do too) that this will be the last non-list ping to all of you until November.
thanks for posting this. I am going (last minute susie) to register my mom. She is 90 & been an invalid. due to lack of getting to polls she was dropped before the last presidential election & was not interested in the “in between” voting as she calls it.
Will also get an absentee ballot for her
Appreciate you putting this in front of everyone
I work in a county courthouse. (Pennsylvania) We close at 4:00. Several of us were a bit confused because they were still letting people in after four. They are keeping voter’s registration open later. I saw lots of college-aged people coming in.
