Thanks for finally giving words and ideas to how the uninformed are being used by Obama - his eloquent empty rhetoric allows the uninformed to simply see their own “desires for change” in Obama’s message, when, in fact, there is nothing specific about “the change” Obama would make.

As a result, when asked why they support him, other than they “believe in change” they cannot tell you.

"To use deficit spending as an argument against tax cuts, as this statement appears to do, is so backwards that I'm not surprised this guy could think that voting for Obama would be a conservative thing to do."

A more important question is why does the Obama camp find it necessary to appeal to the conservitive vote?

NO. SUCH. THING

I refuse to click on the link to read a fraudulent and or navel-gazing article.

This is a total waste of bandwith.

You can be many things and still vote for Barry but conservative is not one of them
Anyone who says they are a conservative and says they are going to vote Barry is a liar.

I just don’t see the uhhhhh, ahhhhh, ohh, mmmmmm.....charisma....in Hussein.

Ronaldus Magnus was more than just a charismatic speaker, he was a giant among giants and his policies and philosophies were SPOT ON! God I miss him!

I skimmed the article. The author seems...terribly confused about the distinction between conservatism and liberalism. Of course, a lot of the liberal infestation in the Republican Party has tarnished (thank you, Bush and McCain) the conservative brand name, since Republican and conservative are synonymous in the minds of many Americans.

He’s right: conservativism has never been about cutting taxes, keeping the government small or preserving civil rights.

Since when?

This is as perplexing as when I hear rabid anarchists (who want no government) backing Obama a man who will make the the US government the biggest its ever been....

I sure don’t get Obama’s charisma, either—but many DO, was my point.

Either they are lying...or they need to ease up on sniffing gasoline, or both.

If O were just a socialist, we might could tolerate him for a term, but that is not his biggest problem. His Muslim connections bother me much much more. The Muslims and the Communists have teamed up and groomed this useful idiot to put in the White House. If they succeed, our country is gone and we won’t be able to get it back.

Wow, for sure!

This really sums up Oprah's man, Obama. He is a great orator, and people hear what they want to hear.

It's ironic to me that many on both sides thought that Hil was perhaps too liberal for the job, and she shifted parts of her campaigning to a more centrist point in only to find she has lost out in her bid to 'the most liberal member of the senate', a man lesser known until Oprah thrust him into the limelight. And he says what too many think they want to hear, but they hear only his oration skills, not the socialism behind his mantras.

And now I see, to at least some conservatives, he is the new Ronald Reagan.

Sigh. People I never imagined would fall for him (including so-called conservatives and pro-life folks) are gushing over his call for change. Change to what, for whom, how is it accomplished? Doesn't matter, he's going to bring us all together and do it. Or so they say.

However, to embrace Obama is not the answer.

Yours is the mantra we need to repeat!

Liberalism is a mental disease.

And it seems to be infecting so called cocktail couch conservatives.
