The single constant in the eternal election remains the media, whose activist role no one will seriously dispute. To point out the prevailing (with honorable exceptions) double standard of reporting so favorable to Mr. Obama by now feels superfluous -- much like talking about the weather. The same holds true for all those reports pointing to Mr. Obama's heroic status outside the United States -- not to mention the cascade of press analyses warning that if he fails to win election, the cause will surely be racism.
None of this means that the media's role will go unremembered -- who will forget MSNBC news, voice of the Obama campaign?
Sen. Obama is not responsible for the political culture, but he is in good part its product. Which is perhaps how it happened that in his 20 years in the church of Rev. Jeremiah Wright -- passionate proponent of the view of America as the world's leading agent of evil and injustice -- he found nothing strange or alienating.

Obama is the media’s whore.
Look, John McCentrist had his chance. He had every American voter hanging on his every word in the nationally televised debates.
No NY Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, Pravda, TASS...
Just him talking to the American voters. He blew it.
He could have explained how left wing policies got us on the brink of being a 3rd world socialist state.
He punted.
In fairness to Pravda, you can’t blame them for that.
And they are his.
If Obama wins, the media gets the credit. If we had real journalism he wouldn’t stand a chance.
Yeppers.
Nail on head, to be totally candid, he does not deserve us. We are propping his ass up only becasue we fear the alternative so....and that sucks.
Like I said last nite
All you Mccain supporters here can kiss my ass for getting us into this crap situation. The only challenge to the most dangerous man to EVER run for president is some crotchety old modrut who despises the very folks who he has to have to win
God help us.....Palin...you're all we got baby.
God dangit I wish you were the nominee dear.
If you thought that was funny you were wrong.
So, you seem to think that after months of pro Obama propaganda and anti-McCain/Palin campaign by the press that a couple of nights on tv negate that? Maybe you should rethink your position?
Well Carter had his 4 years before Reagan. Maybe Barack Fitzgerald Obama will have his 4 before Palin 2012.
Although in all honesty, I hope her populist schtick is just an act. I hope she is more Margaret Thatcher than Mike Huckabee.
There were no filters or MSM propaganda between the candidate and the voters. He could have said whatever he wanted to and the “press” couldn’t do a damn thing.
It’s called the bully pulpit for a reason.
Wrong. He's been ganged-up on by folks he thought were his friends. He probably thought he'd get a fair shake from the media.
Granted, he wasn't my first choice but the more I see, he's my only choice- even if he can't raise his arms over his shoulders. Who pulled Sarah from obscurity and put her on the national stage? John McCain. He dealt us an ace, and by doing so risked being overshadowed. So what.
America is about to judge Obama by the content of his character- and the friends he's associated with, not to mention his lack of experience. He's going down. The first person through the 'glass ceiling' will be a woman, not a minority. Her name is Sarah Palin.
Other way around. But then, maybe they take turns, like Barney Frank and Steve Gobie.
Why would he critique the policies that he built his career upon, under the guise of "bipartisanship?"
I agree. Debates presidential or otherwise never won or lost an election, save an incidental gaffe of monumental proportions. We have seen nothing close to that.
How long did the MSM play those Wright tapes, like 4 weeks solid?
FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE.com: "BIDEN'S SECRET DIPLOMACY" by Vladimir Bukovsky and Pavel Stroilov (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Of course, when people's reputations are at stake, a natural question is: how far can we believe a document written by a communist?") (October 9, 2008)
TOWNHALL.com: Washington - "PALIN vs. BIDEN" by Emmett Tyrrell (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "How is it that an attractive woman who has been involved in state and local government since the early 1990s without much controversy is passed off in the media now as an airhead? Yet her opponent -- long known as an airhead, a braggart and even a plagiarist -- now is passed off as a statesman? I have in mind Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska and Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware or Scranton, Pa., or wherever he now claims to hail from.") (October 9, 2008)
Wrong.
The “Media” is Obama’s whore.
