Obama's Divine Meteorology

It might be a pure coincidence, but Barack Obama gave God the credit for the weather not once, but twice today.

In Chillocothe, Ohio he opened his morning speech with the words, "What a wonderful crowd on this beautiful day that the Lord has made." And then later in Columbus he said, "Look at this day that the Lord has made!"

Indeed, it was a very nice day whoever made it. But it is where Obama said it that is interesting. Ohio has voted Republican in the previous 2 elections, and George W. Bush had some success galvanizing the evangelical vote here. This is not to say Obama doesn't think God has provided nice weather in blue states, he just doesn't talk about it there.

In red states, Obama likes talking about the divine. In blue states, he likes pretending he IS the divine. And that's what really gets me most about this guy. It's not the policy stuff, which is little better or worse than any other lib. At least in 2004, Dems didn't have any illusions that John Kerry was some mystical being. There weren't a zillion YouTube videos like this one hailing him as the second coming. But this year, it's all about The One -- and anyone who opposes him is a racist. It's just nauseating.
