Why is it such a hardship for Obama to produce his actual record of birth?

I’ve been skeptical about this story, but if someone asked me to produce a birth certificate, I could in a heart beat.

I’m surprised that he would go to all of the expense to defend this suit.

Producing the certificate seems like an easy way to diffuse the accusation and embarrass Republicans...that is, unless he can't produce one.
