Now, I have a lot of Democrat friends, who have picked the name next to the (D) in every election all their adult lives......who, after hearing Obama's preacher say "G** D*** America!", will be pulling the R lever for the first time in their lives. Some of them in their mid 70's.

John McCain is out there trying to win this thing, and John McCain is no fool. Your analysis (entire article, not just this line) is pretty darn good. McCain is doing what he thinks is best for the country, and in fact, I think a little bit of Palin is actually rubbing off on him.
I did not think McCain the best Republican choice, but will support any Anit-obama candidate. I believe that the media helpd McCain gain the nomination as the most centrist of the candidates. McCain was the media's Plan B if Obama is not elected.

George, please stop it. You are more annoying than Ken Burns. It suffices to say he is as annoying as Ken Burns, than whom few are more annoying who pretend to have historian credentials. I have seen what I could stomach of both his 'Civil War' and his 'Baseball'. I hated both and recommend them to nobody. If George Will is that annoying, it should be entirely sufficient to exclude him.
Now, that said, George's intellect far surpasses Ken Burns', and he does know (and does love) baseball. That, in itself, helps me like him more than would otherwise be the case.
If there's someone whom I find more annoying than either it is the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness, who has been a steady black cloud on this campaign right from the start.

Good for Duvall. I’m sick to death of these “moderates” and cowards. I was on . . . Al-Jazeera the other night in a debate about the Bush legacy and I left the lib as a carcass! Not because I’m a great debator, but because I ATTACKED and refused to be bullied by these a-holes. We all need to read “Rules for Radicals” and begin to fight like REVOLUTIONARIES.

Either way conservatives are going to be in hole for the next several years. The difference is being in a hole you can climb out of or being at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. You have that right! At the risk of sounding racist (which I am not) my fear is that we will be stuck in a black hole from which we will never leave, not the Grand Canyon, if Obama is elected. No pun intended.

Will should just stick to writing about baseball now.
Hell no
I quit reading his book after one chapter
Talk about over analysis
I like the Babe's theory on hitting and pitching
On hitting --They pitch it and I hit it
On his pitching theory--Low and away ,high and inside

I like your analysis. I still think that McCain makes too many tactical mistakes by pulling his punches with Obama. Strategically it’s hard to find fault with what he is doing. If he wins this year it will go down as a masterful piece of campaigning.
