The word is getting out.

Well, it's about damn time.

But I was specifically talking about people who parrot the Democrat talking point that they would have considered voting for John McCain if only he were willing to run a quiet, inoffensive campaign and lose with class.

The most important thing to these 'Rats is that McCain lose.

They aren't good and sensible people who happen to have a little (D) problem, like the folks you mentioned...

It's good to hear ole Augustus McCrae still telling it like it is. “Dern those liberals!”

I’ve loved him in every role he’s ever played, from Boo Radley to Lucky Ned Pepper to Augustus McRae, and now this icing on the cake!

Unaccountably this put me in a god mood.

I'm talking to democrats daily...and there are a LOT of them who will be voting for McCain-Palin...a lot.

The Obama campaign fears this, as well they should. The vast majority of them are not voting for Obama for one of two reasons: 1) Like houeto's friend says, they see who is associations have been and what his positions are, and they understand they are fundamentally anti-American, or 2) They do not like at all the way Hillary was treated and they want to punish him for it in the hopes he will lose and open the door for Hillary next cycle.

In the mean time, Sarah continues to draw huge crowds everywhere she goes and Obama, the DNC, and the complicit MSM fear it.

A couple weeks ago I bought the Lonesome Dove DVD and rewatched it for the first time in years. It is indeed the best show ever.

Me too - and I agree! Loved the book too.

Duvall lives a few miles from me and we bump into him at a local restaurant every now and then.

Does he still own / run that restaurant in The Plains?

Ah, “Tender Mercies” and “The Apostle”. Both great movies based on the rural Texas Culture. Duval would have made a great Southern small town Evangelical or Pentecostal type Preacher!

I need to read the book as I’ve heard many times it is excellent. I bought and read “Broken Trail” after watching the show. Enjoyed it.

Lonesome Dove was great. The other two books in the series, Streets of Laredo and Comanche Moon are good too. Streets of Laredo is a sequel to LD, and of course there is no Gus. Comanche Moon is a prequel, and fills in some of the backstory of LD.

And don't forget Euliss 'Sonny' Dewey - The Apostle E.F., my personal favorite Duvall role.
