“the Republicans will be swept into control of both the House and Senate in 2010.”
I see that silver lining, too. The Dems will have to defend the majority of Senate seats and after 2 years of over-reaching and disaster, they’ll likely be turning over the gavels of the house and senate after the 2010 elections. They will absolutely over-reach. They always do.
Sarah will be on Rush's program in about an hour and a half!

I hope you're right!
That’s because no on really likes you.

Reagan was behind in the polls at this time in history also. President Bush was behind in the polls also. I don’t believe in polls when they are controlled by the opposition.
I am very worried that the McCain campaign still can’t settle on a message or a strategy. We are three weeks from an election and they can’t decide who they are. I am also worried that most of the states being fought over, including the big EV states in play, were ones that went red last time. I prefer offense to defense.
well since you arent a troll
and have so much time on your hands
how about you go volunteer at the McCain HQ in St Louis and work the fones?
Where the hell is Johnny's Hispanic and Independent support. WAKE UP JOHN!!!!!!!!!
Stop whining, newbie.
Some issues i have been having with FR lately:
i) Confusing peripheral issues (no matter how major they may be, such as Ayers) with the core issues (in this election it is the economy).
ii) Going into 'woe-is-me' mode whenever Obama is ahead in the polls. Again, there is only one poll that matters. Obama being ahead only means that people supporting other candidates (in this case Sarah Palin ...oh, I mean John McCain) need to get off their butts and hit the turf! Only one poll matters, and it is still 3 weeks away.
iii) Acting like McCain is invincible (the other end of the spectrum from those in number 2). He is not, and he can easily lose. To stop him from losing, get off your butt and hit the turf with those in number 2.
iv) Finally, allowing the Republican party to devolve into a state whereby the Republican nominee is a bleeding heart liberal like McCain! Sure, we have no choice this time. But the moment McCain (if he gets elected, or if he does not get elected), Conservatives need to take over their party back! This should be the last election that people allow themselves to settle for a mediocre choice. It is time that true Conservative (note: big C) values come to the fore-front, and i am not talking about a selective number (e.g. people seem to oscillate these days only on guns and abortion. Sure, those are VERY important, but so is SMALL GOVERNMENT, and so is FISCAL CONSERVATISM). Apparently we have lost all notion of the last two (to be honest George W Bush is one of the most liberal presidents ever ....at the very least more liberal than any I can think of. The fact that he took of N.Korea from the Axis of Evil, plus the level of growth in Government and fiscal irresponsibility, means that the ONLY THING making his presidency not to be the worst EVER is that there has been no terrorist attack since 9/11. If terrorists were to attack tomorrow, then Bush's legacy would have no positive. Well ...there would still be the positive of the judges). We need to have strong Conservatives for the next election cycle, and whether McCain wins or not we need to ensure that Conservatives do their part. If a few jaded Liberals who are angry that Hillary lost can start a movement that threatens Obama, then organized FReepers can start a move to re-take the Republican party (please forget about 3rd parties ...in this day and age they are lost votes).
Anyways, it is up to you guys. Personally I cannot even vote (not a citizen), but if you people just sit and 'bloviate' then you can be sure that the US will go to hell in a hand basket. However, focused action, no matter how slow, always lead to gains.
That is the Conservative way!
Or else one of the best exports of the US (apart from manufacturing jobs and the like) will be true Conservatism to other countries, while the US falls into a socialism cesspool.
I’d be shocked if he won in a landslide. Much more likely outcome would be him winning a close one a la our last two elections.
“I called the McCain Campaign and requested a refund of my donation for refusal to mention Rev. Wright”.
Do you really think that anyone who has doubts about Obama has not already heard about Rev. Wright? For the unaware voter, the MSM has already inoculated Obama against any association with the racist Rev.
Much better idea = focus on Obama’s socialist Utopia vision and what that means to average Americans. In other words, focus on pocketbook issues and DON’T let Obama get away with that “95% tax cut” BS.
Out of these four states, only Colorado is one that Bush won last time, so if McCain loses the other three, it really doesn’t affect him that much. If Obama loses any of those, he is done. Obama must win all 4 of those to have a chance.
Too late. I’ve phone-banked for Kenny Hulshof too, FWIW.
But John has assured me that Barry is a decent fellow who I don’t have to fear as President.
Luckily, McCain will be starting some big ad buys soon.
Dear Sara and Quinnipiac Democrat Poller,
WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT THE PREMISE THAT REPUBLICANS RUN 6%-11% BEHIND DEMS IN PARTY ID. Therefore, all of your polling data is relegated to PROPAGANDA classification.
I will send you a box of Cherrios to cry in on Nov 5th you liberal pricks!!! America will never sell out to you retread socialist losers!
Show some Pride FReepers
Are these anything like the 13 point lead he had over Hillary the day of the New Hampshire primary?
Any state Obama is winning will be labeled a battleground state.
