The polls aren’t the problem.
McCain is the problem.
If you want to ignore the polls, fine.
I guarantee you, the McCain campaign isn’t ignoring the polls -— internal or external. In fact, McCain just stated yesterday, he’s behind by 6% -— per his chief advisor, Steve Schimdt.
My first final prediction...McCain 51% Obama 47% Others 2% State predictions in "Battlegrounds" States won my McCain by more that 3%
1-3% Margin
The formula is simple: economy bad (or perceived as bad), Party A in White House, vote Party B. Doesn’t matter if Party B is promising to shoot everyone if elected or show up at everyone’s house and beat them to death with a hammer. In times of economic trouble, the sheeple have been programmed to check their brains at the door and vot with their emotions.
I agree with you about the polls being garbage.
I agree with you about not giving up.
I think what most people are worried about isn’t the polls-it’s the fact that Obama is still standing, with not a mark on him, this late in the game. This guy’s got a boxcar full of baggage, and McCain needs to take him out. He hasn’t.
I know the deck is stacked-all the more reason to let ‘er rip. The only way you really can say that a punch has landed and done it’s job is when the other guy is stretched out on the ground.
Who cares if he gives red meat to 3, 000 people in Bug Tussle who came out to see him? They’re already in his corner. He needs to make all the idiots who may come off the fence one way or the other come down on his side. It’s sad that he has to, but that’s reality.
I just pray ol’ Wile E. McCain isn’t sending away to Acme right now for their “Win-a Debate” kit. He better come out like he means it tomorrow. He’s running out of time.
YES!
Can someone tell me why Obama is still advertising so much in Illinois??!! Seems like a waste of money. There were several commercials last night in the after 10:30 pm time slot. I’m guessing that’s when alot of these “new, young” voters are up watching TV and the Obamans want to make sure they remember that there is an election....But why would their votes even matter, unless there are alot of Reagan Democrats who are planning on voting for McCain?
Notice that just when their numbers were starting to roll out of the time window on RCP they come up with more outliers.
I don’t care what poll results say, I’m not fased about polls. We need to speak the truth and be very influential about Obama, his views, his experience, (or non-experience, I should say), and his associations. God Bless John McCain and Sarah Palin!

Yes, I believe that a lot of voters have no idea about Rev. Wright.
Commercials playing his rants would certainly help McCain in OH, MI, PA and VA, where he is struggling.
This is a no brainer, and McCain is derelict in not doing it.
I may as well have just given my donation to Obama.
agreed...the “i’m gonna teach you a lesson” crowd that stayed home last election, i pray you all got burned real bad in the stock market, because this financial fiasco is all YOUR fault...i spit upon you..
This is necessary for the survival of the conservative movement and the Republican Party which are destined to go into the political wilderness whence it might never emerge as something we recognize. We must salvage the conservative movement if we are to rescue the Republic.
As to the ethics of this proposal, neither the Republican Party nor the conservative movement owes John McCain a damn thing. There is nothing in his Senate career to warrant our loyalty to the point of suicide. Sadly, he has not conducted a campaign-apart from the appointment of Sarah Palin- in fealty to conservative principles.
The obvious spokesman for the party right now and at the time of the eclipse of John McCain is Rush Limbaugh. He is the only national figure who can gain national attention. When it becomes clear that McCain's bid is forlorn it will be time for the Captain to order abandon ship. If this is not done it will leave the conservative movement bearing the blame for this loss and for the coming economic recession. We will not be able to nominate a conservative, and no Republican will be able to win a general election under these circumstances.
If John McCain had fought this out as a conservative we would be morally bound to go down with him but, alas, he has not.
I got an email today from someone in IN who said IN is turning bluer than blue. It’s an incredible thing to see.
“Obama is pretending to be a conservative when he is a left wing radical.”
I noticed that, too. He is sounding more conservative every day, and McCain seems to be in reaction mode, rather than taking the bull by the horns himself and defining a clear vision.
Unfortunately, I think the applicable word is “erratic”.
Just this morning I heard McCain was only behind a few points in battlground states.
Which is it?
Not holding my breath. I heard this same thing in 2006, that 2 years of Pelosi and Reid would surely wake the American people up and refresh the Republicans. The media won't blame the Democrats for a thing, and who knows how many "new voters" will get thrust into the books once they've got unchecked authority.
His behavior is not so much revealing of a disorder as it is revealing of perfect normalcy for a senator--a creature whose every success is dependent on negotiating, compromising, dealing, shifting ground.
It's very characteristic of politicians to constantly adjust their stances and rhetoric based on the advice of others...pollsters, pundits, campaign advisors, donors, friends. Whatever they say at any given moment reflects the influence of the last person who had their ear.
McCain behaves exactly like a politician, not a leader. Leaders are consistent, and they don't chase after followers. They draw followers to them.
WSJ had an editorial page by none other than George Soros (last week). WSJ is on a downward spiral, IMO. Its not what it used to be - may have cancel my subscription. Don’t need any more crappy left-wing papers.
Thanks for the encouragement (McCain in a landslide.) and thanks so much for your service!
