The media’s finally starting to vet acquaintances of Barack Obama.
Wurzelbacher registered as an apprentice with the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council in November 2003, according to Dennis Evans, spokesman with the Department of Job and Family Services. Records show his training, which was sponsored by A & W Newell Co. of Toledo, should have been wrapped last year.
“We don’t have a record of completion,” Evans said. “All we know is that he registered in the program and has gone through to the point where we should have record of completion, but we don’t.”
And that’s not the only record that’s missing from Wurzelbacher’s file. He doesn’t have a plumbing license required by the city of Toledo to practice, according to a staffer with the Toledo Division of Building Inspection. Wurzelbacher, who now works for Newell Plumbing & Heating Co., said the owner, Al Newell, has a plumbing license and that “because he works for someone else, he doesn’t need a license.”
But even that’s not true, according to the Toledo Division of Building Inspection. Wurzelbacher can’t legally do plumbing work without a license, regardless of his boss’s certification.
A staff person with the Toledo Division of Building Inspection told On Call this afternoon that her division will contact Wurzelbacher to notify him that he can’t work without a license.
“We’re trying to track him down,” she said. Also revealed: His boss’s business probably doesn’t bring in anywhere near $250,000 a year so he should stop dreaming about turning it into one that does and what that might mean for his taxes. Which should be easy enough; he’ll probably be out of work soon anyway. Should have known better than to ask a media darling a tough question before your affairs were in order, Joe. Exit question: The law’s the law and it is, after all, his own fault for not having the papers he needs. If, say, an illegal alien had asked McCain a tough question and some righty media source responded by bringing his status to light, would the left feel the same way? Buzz up!5 votes

Reading between the lines, it seems he became an apprentice and “should have” been ready for a license by now. that doesn’t exactly say he had to get the license by now.
So they are “tracking him down” based on his statements to Obama, not based on any report of an unlicensed plumbing job. This is so bogus.
BTW I just heard this guy interviewed. Obama came to his neighborhood and their conversation occurred between Joe’s property and his neighbor’s, so the idea he was “planted” somewhere is ludicrous.
The Associated Obama Press is running stories showing the guy owes $1,200 in back taxes (Daily KO’s feed from this morning) and lacks a license.
Odinga still isn’t a story...nor is Ayers, Farrakkan or Davis as they represent the Marxists the Media are truly cheering for...
The Media is controlled by Marxists and their Messiah must not be damaged in any way.
I really hope the city of Toledo cans Joe the Plumber. Every single politician and official will lose their own jobs come the next election. And there will be a HUGE backlash among working-class voters. Speak up, and the left will DESTROY you.

What does an apprentice do while they are an apprentice if not plumbing? This is bull because plenty other stories say it is common to work under the business owners license.

That's the story I heard from the beginning. Kinda hard to be a "plant" on your own property. Toledo Government and Mayor "Pantload" Finkbeiner can mind their own business, but alas they are as crooked as Obama and half as smart.

How the hell did a simple question from Joe to Barak get so out of hand? Joe’s background is irrelevant - what is important is the answer to his question. Who cares if he has a license or not, owes back taxes or the company doesn’t currently make $250,000 per year? This is so ridiculous. The liberal MSM need to go after the real thugs and crimes.
Obama has a much more checkered past than Joe the Plumber.
