He owes back taxes. He is not a licensed plumber. And it turns out that Wurzelbacher makes less than $250,000 a year, which means he would receive a tax cut if Obama were elected president.

Whew Boy! MSM really earned their money on this one, huh? This truly is front page news (/s).

Let's clear up one little obvious white lie from MSM in this story - Joe never claimed within my "hearing" that he made $250k. Only that he was concerned that should his business (he wants to expand) become successful and puts him in that salary range..........

Bottom line: NONE OF THIS negates the fact that he asked very important questions and raised his concerns about a socialist agenda.

U.S. Tax System Explained in Beer - by Joe SixPack (Stan Bradley)

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1. The sixth would pay $3 The seventh would pay $7. The eighth would pay $12. The ninth would pay $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. 'Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers?

How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings). The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28% savings). The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 ( 22% savings). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. 'I only got a dollar out of the $20,' declared the sixth man.

He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10! "Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too.. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I! "That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!

"Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! 'The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man (the richest) didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

I find it totally amusing that the MSM is all over the fact that Joe the Plumber owes $1,200 in taxes but gave that dirtbag, Charlie Rangel, a total pass for failing to report income on his taxes while he is making tax laws for us “little people”. No wonder why the MSM is held in such disregard by everyday Americans.....they’re scum!!!!

"These elitist “journalists” are complete idiots."

Legends in their own minds and too clever by half. Politico started out ok but has really morphed into MSMpresstitutes.com. Hardly readable anymore...

These reporters really, really lack comprehension skills. Just when you think they can't look more stupid...Dumb asses.

And just think, these "journalists" who have absolutely no reading comprehension skills try to tell us that Sarah, the Governor of our largest state, is too stupid to be VP.....LOL

in reading just that excerpt, three times I had to go back to be SURE it wasn’t The Onion. Maybe these Politico ‘reporters’ have been out on the road too long and their brains are numb, so they just pick up Daily Kos talking points. Pitiful.

Agreed. The WORST thing to do right now would be to reverse course, back down, and retreat on this story, even in view of these things. That would put blood in the water and get us on the defensive, and they would have flipped all the momentum back on the good guys. If anything, we should go over on lib websites and bait them to make this even more of an issue. Then, more Americans will learn about Joe, and as a result it will split 80% in favor of Joe and 20 % in favor of Obama.

It is THE losing issue for them for 2008 and they know it. This is abject desperation.

Nope. As much as I hate the libs, you have to give Obama credit from running a campaign that's been able to handle anything. Wright? Bus tossed, never heard from again. Ayers? "I was 8 years old" ACORN? they sue the us *first*.

The Mccain campaign is the washington generals of politics.

That's exactly what Joe was talking about. These reporters really, really lack comprehension skills. Just when you think they can't look more stupid...Dumb asses.
You don't get it. Reporters know exactly what they're doing. Their job is to tell an intriguing story, not analyze. The stories, their arcs and endings are all scripted. Truth and nuance are immaterial.

Think of it like pro-wrestling.

“He owes back taxes. He is not a licensed plumber. And it turns out that Wurzelbacher makes less than $250,000 a year, which means he would receive a tax cut if Obama were elected president.”

His owing taxes and not being a licensed plumber is irrelevant. Joe never said he made over 250,000 - he stated he wanted to buy the business and grow it and simply asked Barak if he would be taxed more if it succeeded. The MSM is out of control on this one.

Actually I did, I just like to point out how incompetent they are since they claim to report the facts. They’re either incompetent or liars, either way not good.
