WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said Monday that if he is elected, he will ask former Secretary of State Colin Powell to serve as an advisor in his administration.

"He (Powell) will have a role as one of my advisers. He has already served in that function, even before he endorsed me." Obama said on NBC's Today show.

"Whether he wants to take a formal role, whether that's a good fit for him, is something we'd have to discuss," he added.

Powell, a retired four-star general and widely-respected Republican, crossed party lines to back Obama last Sunday as he described Republican presidential nominee John McCain's campaign as petty and troubling.

He's already betrayed one Commander-in-Chief. Why not two?

If I were Obama, I'd watch my backside...

See, his endorsement wasn’t about race, it was about furthering his own career. Does anybody doubt that this is a payoff for the endorsement?

In the old days, that was called a bribe.

Bad idea. Powell should have got more allies on board in the Iraq War.

Gee, ya think? I wonder just how much the job is worth if you have to sell your soul for it.

Obama said Monday that if he is elected, he will ask former Secretary of State Colin Powell to serve as an advisor in his administration.

Hmmm, Mr Obama, who hates the Bush administration, where Mr Powell served for several years, has no problems with GW Bush's Secretary of State? And Mr Obama needs to remember that it was Powell who sold the Iraq war, the war that Mr Obama opposes, to the world? About the only thing that they have in common is that they are both half-black? Nah, they wouldn't play the race card that way, would they?????????????

As I’ve said on a few other threads, Powell is going to be the Secretary of Reparations if O BAMA wins.

So much for Powell and his ‘long patrol’ in the Republican Party.

Bug out artists.
Party, of which I criticize unmercifully, hits a perfect storm and Powell bails out, quits, back stabs.

Obama to offer position for Powell if elected president

What did Gomer Pyle say? SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

I haven't trusted this guy since he opposed Bush I in liberating Kuwait. He knew it was Armitage who leaked Plame's identity, and let Scooter Libby get hung out to dry. A real weasel, which would make him fit right in with the Southside Chicago mob Obama will bring with him to the WH.
