Call Warfare Next Mission (Why Powell Backs Obama)
Boston Herald ^ | October 21, 2008 | Michael Graham

Poor Barack Obama. With friends like these . . .

No, wait, not those friends: the Rev. Wright, Williams Ayers and gang.

I mean friends whom Obama will actually admit having, like “Scrappy Joe” Biden and Gen. Colin Powell. Both were talking up an Obama presidency over the weekend, but I wouldn’t call the results “Mission Accomplished.”

Sen. Biden (D-Amtrak) is not exactly known for his rhetoric. He recently told supporters that Obama’s highest priority “is a three-letter word: Jobs! J-O-B-S.”

He followed up that math lesson with this prediction at an Oregon fund-raiser:

“It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama. . . Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. . . And he’s gonna need help.”

OK, so guaranteeing a major foreign policy crisis is a reason to vote for Obama? To me it sounds just plain dumb. D-U-M.

Powell, on the other hand, is famously cautious with words - an important skill for a diplomat. But on “Meet the Press,” it didn’t make for a compelling argument:

“Because of his ability to inspire, because of the inclusive nature of his campaign, because he is reaching out all across America, because of who he is and his rhetorical abilities, he has both style and substance. He has met the standard of being a successful president, being an exceptional president. I think he is a transformational figure. He is a new generation coming into the world - onto the world stage, onto the American stage and for that reason I’ll be voting for Senator Barack Obama.”

“Inclusive nature”? “Rhetorical abilities”? “Because of who he is”? Is Powell picking a commander in chief or a profile off Match.com?

Where’s the...

I have seen nothing from B Hussein Obama that justifies these words from Powell. Why didn't he just come out and say he's endorsing him because he's black?

“Inclusive nature?”

Elitist liberals disgust me. They are so sanctimonious and phoney. Talking down their noses at people who are “not inclusive”! I’m so sick of this guy and his pretensious acolytes!

They think they are better than you and I and better than rural folks in southwestern PA. They think they deserve to take money from people who earn it and redistribute it to people that don’t.

They’re an intolerant and godless horde.

Did you notice on MTP he was saying there WILL be a crisis in January?

How would he know?

Nobody has mentioned this yet.

Hmmmmm.

Lots of paragraphs saying nothing.

My counter argument will be brief:

It is racism.

Additionally, most blacks, most of the time, when it comes to whites, are racist.

Sen. Biden (D-Amtrak)

Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are!

You might want to correct your title. It is “class warfare”, not “call warfare”

The wise elite in Boston (who are smarter than the rest of us) have moved Seattle - were the comments were made - to Oregon.

That sort of sets the tone for the credibility of the rest of the article.
