Hatin' Palin
The Wall Street Journal ^ | October 22, 2008 | Daniel Henninger

Posted on 10/22/2008 8:37:20 PM PDT by St. Louis Conservative

The abuse being heaped on Sarah Palin is such a cheap shot.

The complaint against the Alaska governor, at its most basic, is that she doesn't qualify for admission to the national political fraternity. Boy, that's rich. Behold the shabby frat house that says it's above her pay grade.

(snip)

The stoning of Sarah Palin has exposed enough cultural fissures in American politics to occupy strategists full-time until 2012. We now see there is a left-to-right elite centered in New York, Washington, Hollywood and Silicon Valley who hand down judgments of the nation's mortals from their perch atop the Bell Curve.

It seems only yesterday that the most critical skill in presidential politics was being able to connect to people in places like Bronko's bar or Saddleback Church. When Gov. Palin showed she excelled at that, the goal posts suddenly moved and the new game was being able to talk the talk in London, Paris, Tehran or Moscow. She looks about a half-step behind Sen. Obama on that learning curve.

Great article. I love the Wall Street Journal's editorial page. Perhaps Peggy Noonan, a WSJ employee, should read this column.

I think that deep down ...they even hate themselves and look toward the government to make their life better. In the end, after the inevitable failure of government to fulfill thier life...they end of hating themselves/their life even more.

Clothes, inexperience, Colin Turncoat dissing her, even turning the SNL skit against her.

Interestingly I was in West Chester Oh, last week with 10,000 other who came out to see her.

Media appears to getting ready to go full nuclear to stop her.

Cultural fissures? How about ideological divisiveness.

The stoning of Sarah Palin has exposed enough ideological divisiveness in American politics

The media and the beltway pundits have no clue. None. They flat out do not understand people oustide their bubble. They can run all the fav/unfav polls and all the “is she experienced enough” polls they want, but this woman is the one that is truly transformative. This is a REAL citizen politician, not careerists like Obama & Biden.

Sarah Palin was not created by the media, and thus cannot be destroyed by the media. I’ve got news for them, nobody gives a sh*t what Colin Powell, or Kathleen Parker, or Christopher Buckley, or David Brooks, or Peggy Noonan say about Sarah Palin. I’m sure in the DC/NY/LA axis, it meant a great deal, but then these are the same people who asked each other how it was possible that Reagan won in landslides, when they themselves knew nobody who voted for him.

Go Sarah! We’re praying for you!

I am so sick and tired of the attacks on Sarah Palin. She’s the only really normal one in the race. She does not worship at the altar of Washington, DC, nor does she look in her mirror and fall in love with herself. She is faith-filled and has a very nice husband and family. She’s a great speaker, and a can-do Governor. She is humble, yet confident in her abilities.

That being said, the media dimwits in NYC, DC, and the west coast Hollywoodites and those in Sodom and Gemorrhah by the Bay are perfect examples of bullies who are just plain jealous. The women are jealous of Sarah’s looks, abilities, and her gorgeous husband, Todd; and the men like to pick on a superior woman candidate who is conservative.

There’s snobbery here too, since Sarah did not graduate from one of their elite universities, hence she must be stupid.

They are pathetic. I have lost whatever little respect I ever had for journalists. They now rate lower than lawyers, IMHO!

Someone should point out that before she became governor of Alaska, some might have said that being mayor of a small backwater doesn’t qualify someone for being governor of a whole state.

Yet look how successful she’s been at being governor—Alaskans overwhelmingly approve of the job she’s done.

Any respect long ago left for me. I loathe these people. I am approaching hate. It is not healthy for me, so I need to work on it.

I cannot even listen to the radio news for 5 minuets in my car anymore. I never tune in MSM on the TV, I watch only football/sports on TV and rarely go to or watch movies. I do not listen to poplular music other than old time rock n roll. When they DJ comes on, I turn the station. I refuse to read any MSM writing, I am about to cancel my WSJ subscription of 27 years.

I short, they have lost me and can never recoup my interest. Not sure they know or even care. Their loss for sure.

Look at the human wreckage that make up the Democratic leadership. Kennedy, Kerry, Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, Gore, Obama, Biden. Everyone of them with serious skeletons in their closets, every one of them with ethical lapses you could drive a truck through, every one of them demonstrably wrong on issue after issue.

Put them up against Sarah Palin and you have a gaggle of corrupt misfits and their propagandists complaining that she isn’t one of them. Thank God for it.
