Lots of Blue Dog Dems in Florida. I have an uncle, 5th generation Floridian, he was a “union man” his whole life, votes Democrat...but he won’t be voting for Obama.
I don’t think many of the Blue Dogs will. Would Lawton Chiles have voted for Obama...I don’t think so. The Blue Dogs supported Jeb...Obama is much too liberal for native Floridians, but then there are those pesky transplants from the Northeast. They bother me because last election many voted twice, absentee in NY, and also in Florida, or vice versa.
Lawton Chiles would have voted for Obama. I have no doubt. He was a dirty politician.
My father-in-law, and his mother, are rockribbed stalwart democrats. They have never voted GOP in their lives, but this year they are supporting McCain. Their reason? They both think that fauxbama is a black racist and a closet muslim (Granny thinks he’s a muslim, period), and not only are they openly supporting McCain, but they sent the campaign a twenty-five dollar campaign contribution.
Countless thousands of native Florida democrats are rejecting this imposters blandishments....and I don’t thing it’s being picked up by the pollsters.
