Thanks for the invite, Race. Sorry, for some reason I thought this parade was next weekend. I'm afraid we can't be there on Nov. 2nd.

Thank you for taking part in this parade, and for your and all veterans' service to our country.

Edit postDelete postReport this postReply with quote Connecticut Veteran’s Day Parade
by CTGatheringofEagles on Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:47 pm

Connecticut Veteran’s Day Parade, Today, November 2, 2008, was held in Hartford.

In attendance were Ct GOE Coordinator Jim Bancroft, Ct GOE members Roger Peterson and his father, ‘DAD’.

Together, the three of us scowled at the 3 moonbats who we spotted as they scampered throughout the organizing group before assembling. One such moonbat scampered to and fro, strutting his chest out, trying to look like he had a chest, whilst he manoevered through the collection of patriotic marchers and older, wiser, and honorable Veterans from all recent wars of memory.

It was later discovered that only 3 Moonbats from the IVAW had shown up, so they joined ranks with another traitorous group that falsely claims it is for peace while they call for our troops death: CODE PINK.

Desite the shattered dreams of the moonbats, the veterans of the parade succeeded to march from the gathering place near the Connecticut State Capital , through the arches of Bushnell Park, Up Asylum Street, right turn onto Main, and past the reviewing stand across the street from the Hartford Athaneum. While marching past, the announcer proudly proclaimed the presence of THE GATHERING OF EAGLES, and rightly described us as patriots whose desire was to honor all veterans who served honorably and to honor those in uniform now.

The day was quite chilly, cloudless, a bit breezy, and surely easier to handle than the heat and discomfort of Iraq and Afghanistan, where our brave men and women sacrifice their lives so we can live in peace!

Our hats off to those men and women; may they always be safe! Our hats off to all who served before us, may their efforts and memories nevber fade.

Thank you for YOUR service, Veteran. :o)

SOrry, but I was unable to attend with the PGR unit. my back is so bad (has been all weekend) that I can barely stand without very bad pain, and with the wife bedridden, I had to do everything around the house, all errands, get her into and out of her wheelchair,e tc., so that I had no rest. (I know, wah-wah-wah)

had I been able to stand for more than ten seconds without having to hug a wall, I would have attended.
