A Pasco, Wash., man was arrested this morning by Oregon State Police after about 115 pounds of marijuana was found in a van he was driving north on Interstate 5.

Lt. Brian Powers said Jesus Lopez-Ramos, 53, was the only occupant in the van, which was stopped about 8 a.m. south of Ashland for a traffic violation. There was a marijuana odor in the van.

Lopez-Ramos is being held in Jackson County Jail on suspicion of possession, distribution and manufacturing of marijuana.

State police valued the marijuana at about $345,000.

What the article, as usual, and I looked at several on this arrest, does not say is the perp is an illegal alien. We had to find that in the jail records.

Thanks for the follow up. Lots of marijuana coming from the recent harvest in Humboldt County, CA.

The illegals are having a hard time finding work as house construction is way down and employers are unable to hire with the shabby ID's they used to accept. Very few of the younger, unattached male illegals want to work the orchards and field crops any more.

Lots of meth busts of illegals also all over the NW. The illegals are finding out that meth is so addictive that the users can't control themselves enough, get popped for thefts, rat out the illegals and everybody goes to jail and back to Mexico.

The illegals are figuring out that dope smokers are the only users mellow and functional enough to have jobs to finance their habits.

The illegals are very good at remaking themselves in order to fit into our economy somewhere.

As they are more disciplined at growing and marketing marijuana, the American and Canadian marijuana farmers are being gradually displaced and the price of high quality marijuana is dropping.

Capitalism at its purest: customers, suppliers, no taxes, minimal legal intervention, social acceptance of the commodity..... Legalization of marijuana would bankrupt the last American economic sanctuary of illegal Mexicans citizens living here.
