Apple, Google Both Come Out Corporately Against Traditional Marriage Definition Ballot Measure

CALIFORNIA, October 24, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Two of the world's largest computer tech companies, Apple and Google, have taken the unusual corporate action of opposing a California ballot measure, Proposition 8, which would insert the traditional definition of marriage in the state consistution.

Proposition 8 would undo the May 15 California Supreme Court's judicial activist decision that invented a right to homosexual "marriage". The court decision ignored the 2000 vote by Californians approving Proposition 22 which maintained the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman, and expressly prohibited the state from recognizing same-sex marriages.

Apple announced today that it would donate $100,000 to the No on Prop 8 campaign. The No campaign vehemently opposes Proposition 8 and opposes any recognition of the approval of California voters eight years ago of Proposition 22

What am I supposed to do? Boycott them?

Get rid of my computer?

Refuse to use Google?

Hell, the dang hospital I work at, and most other hospitals probably share the same views, as do most politically correct large organizations (and most are politically correct, due to the race/sex hustlers like Rainbow/PUSH.

I’m never buying nor have ever bought any of Apple’s crap anyway, but what is the least liberal search engine I can use in the future, anyone?

Apple makes good computers and MP3 players.

Google writes really good software.

Neither company knows anything about social policy. They should stick to what they know best.

Both very lib companies. Any good search engines that are more conservative? If Obama wins - be prepared for him to use Google to spy on us.

The CEO for Google, Eric Schmidt (?), is a big Obama stooge.

I appreciate the suggestion, but the point is, if I am going to be consistent, I am going to have to quit my job.

I can’t buy food from Star Market, Shaws or Safeway.

I can’t buy anything from China.

I can’t buy anything from Columbia, Bangladesh or Pakistan.

Does anyone think Microsoft is different? Or Sun? Or IBM?

Come on, folks. So Apple and Google make a statement and contribute money. What the hell do you think things like the Bill Gates and Tides foundations are doing? I can tell you they have put a boatload more money and influence into these kinds of anti-American things than a measly $100K.

Only morons intentionally alienate half their customer base. If your business isn’t politics, keep your politics out of your business.

why in sam hill do they even getinvolved???

So, like if the dems win, they will retaliate against corporations who didn't support them. OTOH, the republicans don't really do much in the way of retaliation, they focus on supporting whoever is giving them money at the moment...

So if it looks like a dem win, better support them or you'll regret it.

You should definitely buy coffee from Colombia. (You must have gotten the wrong info on that one.)

;-)

As for the search engines, I use those I posted because my choices on the Internet are not tracked and Cuil gives better information very frequently.

the No on Prop 8 campaign. The No campaign vehemently opposes Proposition 8...

I would have never guessed this from the name.

Google is beyond hope, but I had more respect for Apple. Come on, Apple, you seal real products. Leave politics to those lesser individuals who have no talents for anything else.

Okay, I admit it. I got hysterical and threw Columbia in there...

This kind of stuff has me frustrated. I feel kind of the same way people who are all up in arms about additives to food feel...

It’s in your food...it’s in your water...you can’t get away from it...

Google does piss me off. They list porn and every other thing you can think of, but God forbid they actually show returns for firearms and ammunition.

Google has ticked me off once too many times too. That’s why I use scroogle. Google gets NO benefit from my searches....and I am the one *using* them.

The NO side has deep pockets and the establishment - business, cultural and political - lined up behind them. People who support traditional marriage have only faith in God and the support of the quiet marriage to overcome the latter. Those without faith have it easy; true faith requires climbing that mountain but the rewards are immeasurable. The City of Man can never compare to the sight of the City Of God.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
