A day in the life of Palin (One wonders if Obama could be so resilient)
Boston Herald ^ | October 23, 2008 | Michael Graham

have a dream for Sen. Barack Obama.

I have a dream that one day, for just 24 hours, he could be Sarah Palin.

OK, maybe that’s less of a dream and more a plot point from a bad Lindsay Lohan movie (redundancy alert!).

But imagine the Democratic nominee’s day as Barack Palin Obama:

He wake up and reaches for a secret cigarette and a copy of The New York Times [NYT]. Instead of the usual partisan puff pieces (“Obama Health Care Plan Pledges Miraculous Healings For All”), the Times is running exposes about his family.

Does his spouse have extremist political views? Who pays when his kids travel to Washington? And how do we know one of them isn’t really his grandkid?

Opening the editorial page Palin-Obama finds column after column filled with personal attacks and insults. Comments about his looks, how much his clothes cost, his speaking style - even suggestions that the radical teachings of his church might be a legitimate topic for discussion.

He clicks on MSNBC and sees the spittle-flecked face of Chris Matthews.

“Obama says he’s cutting taxes for 95 percent of taxpayers, but he’s not. He’s just sending them checks! No cut in their tax rate AT ALL! IT’S A LIE, A LIE! AAARRGGHHHH!

“Sarah Palin. New Energy for America.” That’s a great slogan. It works at all levels.

Awesome post Kaslin!

BTW...

Chuck Norris wears Sarah Palin pajamas.

When Batman is in a bind he lights up the Sarah Signal.

By turning it all around, the article makes an excellent point. The bias in the media for Obama/Biden and against McCain/Palin is stunning.

Joe Biden has the biggest mouth and is the biggest gaffer in all of American political history. The comments he makes are priceless. All the choices floated around on the Dems VP list, were far better than Biden, who Obama picked. It says much about Obama's lack of judgment.

But the focus is on McCain's "poor pic" Palin.

That’s entirely true. I was arguing with someone who kept saying how stupid Palin was.

Yet she hadn’t heard a thing about Biden’s gaffes. I asked, “What if I told you she’d said ‘His last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be a three-letter word: jobs, j-o-b-s, jobs’ “

“I’d say, The woman can’t count to four and you want to put her a heartbeat away from the presidency?”

“Congrats, Biden’s the one who said that.”

*silence*

Very, very clever of you. : ) Liberals and the media paint any R they can with the stupid mantra. It gets so old after 30 years of watching it.

Too bad it sticks so well with dumbed down America who just regurgitates whatever they hear from the MSM.

And in most cases the truly stupid are the dems.

I wonder what that woman was thinking as the two of you parted.

Thankyou! I’m willing to bet she thought I was lying, stupid, or dishonest since I tricked her into a moment of party disloyalty, like the dastardly conservative I am. Anything but, “Maybe I am an intolerant sheep.”

It’s gotten pretty old after just 5 years of watching it; it’s no wonder so many people think Republicans are either stupid or evil when all they listen to is MSM (but would it kill them to do some independent research?). It seems to be worse with Palin than anyone I can remember, though admittedly I’m too young to remember anything pre-Clinton. She should be proud that she scares them so much.

You're right. Anything but that . . .

If you read Treason by Ann Coulter, you will know that the same thing was going on back in the 1950s. Candidates having to disclose their Income Tax records traces back to the 1952 Nixon campaign for VP, when he was accused of having a "slush fund" because he had the same arrangements for covering his campaign travel/expenses as every other politician in the country (Google Nixon, "Checkers speech"). And although late in his life the one thing everyone conceded about Nixon was his foreign policy insight, in 1960 he was criticized as a foreign policy know-nothing. Compared to John "Bay of Pigs/Cuban missile crisis/President Diem overthrow" Kennedy! (The latter was the thing which got the US thoroughly involved in Viet Nam; it happened only a month before JFK was shot).

You are absolutely right, youngun.’ Palin has gotten it worse than anyone I’ve ever seen and I remember, Bork, Quayle, Thomas and other’s who aren’t coming to my mind at the moment.

You left out the Berlin Wall which the Russians would have never attempted under either Eisenhower or Nixon who would have told the US Army to do their usual patrols into East Berlin the minute they started stringing the barbed wire. Kennedy blinked and the East Germans found themselves in a cage for the next 30 years.

Well, I could hardly cover the entire past half century in a single post - that's why Ann Coulter writes books.
