Hate's last stand (Morford Barf Alert)

The Left continues to look at most Americans as hateful bigots. In this entire campaign, on the YES on 8 side, I've never seen a disrespect or contempt for gay people. But there's been plenty of both directed by the NO side at traditional values voters. Michael Medved mentioned on the other thread that Prop. 8 is leading by a 4% margin. It will probably pass by over 10%. Those who advocate same sex marriage have not been honest with voters and tried to hide who they are. Those who believe marriage is a union of a man and a woman recognize that marriage either means a given thing or it means nothing. That's why constitutional amendments to protect marriage will pass in California, Arizona and Florida. Marriage after all benefits every one in our society.

Whenever I read the fictitious term “homophobia” in a piece (usually in the first few sentences), I know I can safely and accurately discard the piece as a pile of moonbat pablum, and save myself a few minutes of my life for more productive pursuits (like counting the perfs in my wing tips.)

As I write these very words, big-money ultraconservatives are joining churches and temples and sad, sad priests nationwide in extolling their fearful throngs to send huge portions of their life savings straight to the gaggle of pro-Prop. 8 extortionists, in an attempt to ban gay marriage and crush what essentially amounts to a type of love they cannot, will not understand.

No, actually the "love" part I get. What I don't get is the sodomy.

Guess what Morford, even if this fails, even if Obama gets in, even if your wildest, gayest dreams come true and us Christians are wiped off the face of the earth, you are still going to get up every morning in the black pit of despair seeing your sorry soul looking back at you in the mirror. Like the druggie, like the addicted gambler, it will never be enough.

The "crime against nature" is not just a name. It's a stark reality. Repent and seek forgiveness. Or live with yourself and by yourself for all eternity--which, as you are already starting to grasp--is Hell.
