“...sold his soul to the RIGHT”???

If anything, McCain has sold it to the leftists!

RINOS are the ones destroying the party.

I think posting articles like this one, and agreeing with them, is entirely unhelpful and un-Conservative immediately before an important election.

Do you REALLY want Obama as your next POTUS? No matter what his faults, McCain will be much better for America than Obama ever could be. Obama could do a heck of a lot of real damage in four years. And even more if he gets eight.

Posting threads like this is nothing short of distributing Enemy Propaganda. If they really need to, Conservatives can sort out the GOP AFTER the election.

I don’t see how you could think it is at all “helpful” to go about moaning that the Republican Party is destroyed. That only encourages the Liberals and does not a dam’n bit of good for Conservatives.

Get a grip on yourself and stop scaring the horses.

.I cannot see how McCain, who isn't in charge yet, can be blamed

My guess is the McCain organization had a great deal to do with allowing Republican state parties with open primaries to go early in the election cycle. These primaries allowed other than Republicans to propel the angry little man to his party's nomination. It has also been suggested that if the early primaries had been closed, other than McCain would be the standard bearer today.

Reagan destroyed the republican party.

Google to see what Ron Paul has said about Reagan Administration.

A True™ Conservative is like a Jew awaiting the Messiah.

While the dems keep on winning with their imperfect candidates.

Tis why the MSM keeps publishing this same article over every election year, just replacing the GOP Candidates names.

You sure love to parrot the liberal anti-Bush venom until its turned on McCain. What a tool.

LA Times lashing out at Republicans in response to the Khalidi fiasco. Means our efforts are getting to them.

McCain may have been the one to save the GOP from the Bush’s by picking Sarah.

The Democrats via their guard dogs, the MSM, have already begun gloating over a supposed Obama victory and are now starting to pile on here.

While I certainly have my points of contention with George Bush this blogger and her interview subject conveniently forget Newt Gingrich and the shut down of government. Rember that little fiasco?

Everybody says their for cutting government spending...until push comes to shove and when government is actually cut liberals scream bloody murder about the cold, heartless Republicans who will throw grandma out in the snow bank, or we will see Big Bird on Capitol Hill pleading not to hurt the children. And then the MSM will more than gladly knife the Republicans over and over again until people like Gingrich have held in lower regard than Hitler.

Yeah, yeah, people talk a good game about the budget, the deficit, and spending right up until the time they are asked to actually sacrifice.

My motto is NO MORE BUSHES.

Jeb may be the best of the lot, but too bad. We have learned enough from them.

“They are starting to eat their own.”

STARTING???!!! You have to be kidding, the Republicans have made a meal out of GWB for three years. The rat Republicans in the Congress have allowed this man to be taken down, piece by piece. They watched the polls far more than they watched what their exodus was doing to the President and thus their own party. Katrina, Abu Graib, Iraq, and every other catch word that the Democrats put out there to destroy Bush, they ran for the hills instead of standing beside their President. The humor in this is simple and it relates directly to John McCain, they thought it was against JUST GWB, it wasn’t, it was a war waged against all of them and they are reaping their just rewards this year. The dems wounded GWB and the party, the first scent of blood, the republicans ran for cover and let them have their meal.

A gentle reminder that this house is conservative and not necessarily Republican. Partisans are welcomed as candidates for conversion to conservatism.

President Bush, or anyone else we want to blame, has as much power as we allow. If we want to look for blame, we need to drag out a big mirror. It happened when we started demanding someone from the government help with solutions that should have been handled in the market- even if the issue sounded ‘conservative’.

Since the Republican Party hasn’t been what I would call conservative since about 1865, it’s hard to see how Bush could’ve destroyed it.

Rush predicted during the primaries that if McCain or Huckabee got the nomination, they would destroy the Republican party. McCain has done exactly that. After next tuesday, the Republican party needs to take a giant laxative and flush all traces of McCain down the toilet. After 8 years of his self promotion it will be so good to finally be rid of McCain.

> Aside from judges, defense and tax cuts, I can’t think of anything that Bush did that was actually “conservative.”

Judges, Defense, and Tax Cuts are really good Conservative deliverables. He’s been a great war-time President. And when he was Governor of Texas he was great with the Death Penalty. Throughout he has been overtly God-Fearing, which is definitely a Conservative trait.

I think you are much too hard on GWB. His eight years have been much better than Clinton’s eight, by miles.

I believe that the entire Bush family never really liked what Reagan did to the GOP. They long for the old days when the country-club RINOs were in charge and the GOP didn’t have to bear the weight of being a majority party.

I can certainly agree with W. destroying the party. We went from having a majority in both houses to losing both due to *his* unpopularity/lack of leadership.

As someone else said, McCain was one of a hundred. Sometimes he did things that weren’t right (McCain/Feingold) but has done a lot right (the surge, pro-life).
