As Expected, McCain Ally Graham Wins Second Term in Senate
The Wall Street Journal - Washington Wire ^ | 2008-11-04

As pollsters predicted, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham won a second term, defeating Democrat Bob Conley. The Associated Press called the race for Graham — a close friend of Sen. John McCain — shortly polls closed at 7 p.m. The call was based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for the Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

“Number one, I’m grateful — appreciative — to have a second term,” Graham told the AP in a telephone interview. He said he’ll continue reaching out to Democrats and mainstream conservatives as he returns to Washington. “I’ll just keep on being me.”

He said he’ll continue reaching out to Democrats and mainstream conservatives

In other words, if you don't buy into shamnesty and other liberal policies he'll still label you a "bigot."

Keep Gramnesty in the Senate, John, not in your cabinet.

I honestly don’t know if Conley would of actually either been a very conservative politician, a political maverick, a populist, or eventually moved leftwards after some serious coaxing by Democrats. I still would of voted for Conley, if I lived in South Carolina, but Conley would often be like nutty Ron Paul on how he voted on most issues. Graham still seriously needs to be replaced asap!

He said he’ll continue reaching out to Democrats and mainstream conservatives as he returns to Washington.

As I've posted before:

IF McCain wins, hopefully he'll bury Grahamnesty somewhere in the executive branch and Gov. Sanford will select another no-nonsense conservative in the mold of DeMint.
At this point, IMHO, the only good thing about Grahamnesty is that he does have a "R" after his name. Granted, the R stands for RINO but at least it's an R.

As far as I know South Carolina does not force an election so that would be the best outcome. As long as RINOs like Collins and Graham are numbered in the Senate GOP ranks, there is zero chance that we will have any more than a Bob Michel cadre of go-along-slowly types leading a resistance to nutjob lefty policies. I’d like to see McCain appoint all the Rats he can to the cabinet, frankly, from states with GOP governors.

He will keep on being “ME” and if the Republicans in General feel that way they will never win.The Republican Party has lost its way and by the time they regain their composure the Democrats will finish draining the blood from America. HH!
