on the other hand its actually kind of funny that he lost by only a few hundred votes... that has to be eating him up alive.. thinking about all the stuff he could have done to get those extra votes and win.. haha

don’t get your hopes up. The democrats HATE coleman because he is not in the DFL.

Look for Coleman to lose the election AFTER the votes are cast. It’s the way of the Democrats. The only time they didn’t manage to do it was in Florida because we have hundreds of lawyers watching them like hawks. Without hundreds of lawyers, the fix will be in and the biggest Ahole ever to run for the Senate will be handed a seat in the House of Lords.

Only (disturbingly) in this country can someone who behaves with such disgusting shamelessness could run for office and be seriously considered.

Hey, Cyber....you're right. I saw a blurb on TV this morning that a recount in this case is mandatory....and depending on a lot of factors could take a few days or up to a month.

We can be sure that Franken will let the recount proceed. He's about 800 votes behind. It's possible in a race with a couple million votes, he could make those votes up. Not likely, but possible.

Plus, these few votes can be easily made up by stealth fraud. "Lost ballots" can suddenly be found, etc.

Plus, liberal lawyers will fly into Minneapolis to use every wile and trick in the book to get Franken certified as a winner.

I feel enormously liberated and jazzed up. We are going to fight these people differently now. No more mister nice guy. No more letting them badger us into endless and one sided compromise. Its time to take to the barricades.

Norm will have the finest legal talent from Minneapolis and Washington DC. I think we’re gonna be OK.

Remember too, the Star Trib and the Pioneer Press both endorsed Norm — they have no use for Franken so they will underplay this story.

MN has paper ballots, so the likelihood of machine errors, chads, and such... is very low... This result will likely stand, but the GOP better have a plane full of lawyers on the way to MN just in case...

All the DemocRATs need to do is invalidate 726 Coleman votes. With paper ballots, you take a Coleman vote and put a mark through Franken as well. Since the ballot now shows TWO votes, it is thereby invalidated. Similar to how they used to take card ballots and force a rod through the "D" hole. Any "D" votes in the stack are untouched, but the "R" votes are rendered invalid, since they now have a "D" next to them.

Also keep in mind that Tim Pawlenty will be hovering over the proceedings as well... Tim is no lightweight!

Its the power of the media. Give me control of the TV and print media in Massachusetts for a couple of years and I'll brainwash them into going for Pat Buchanan in a landslide. Lies can make people do crazy things and think crazy things are normal.

The modern mass media is something terrible to behold. A monstrosity that is rapidly destroying our democracy. We must tame it. 1984 arrived 24 years late.

“Someone named ‘Chad’, I think.”

We use fill-in-the-bubble ballots here in Minnesota, so Franken will be hard-fought to find undervotes, overvotes, inbewteen votes or whatever other non-vote votes libs are so fond of.

“could take weeks”?
Why? The more time to do some dirty deeds, done dirt cheap.

“thinking about all the stuff he could have done to get those extra votes and win”

He already called Coleman a criminal. Plus he had that whole Democrat Year thing going for him. There isn’t much more he could do.

I know many around here consider Norm a RINO but given that he is pro-life and 70s ACU in a wasteland like MN, well, I for one was proud to have given to him and THRILLED he won re-election especially over a clown like Franken. Way too close for comfort but satisfying nonetheles.

Not only a well organized conservative group ACORN we need a internet digital squad that Obama had that help build his campaign through emails, blackberries and online social groups.

I understand that the internet digital squad is going with Obama to Washington.

Yes, and that seems like a great thing to be nurtured here at Free Republic. Lots of people here who could do great things.

I agree with you, Mad_as_heck.

I've slowly been disconnecting myself from politics over the last ten years, and I'll continue to do so because I will live my life exactly as I see fit and don't give a flaming sh!t what anyone in Washington or my state capital thinks about it.

It’s crazy that Franken got that many votes. What’s up with Minnesota?

What’s up with Minnesota?

They've always been lefties. Lefties who like guns, but lefties nonetheless.

the prospect of overturning 725 votes is extremely, extremely, extremely remote."

Mr. Coleman, have you ever been to Washington State? 450 votes were all we needed in 2004.

He needs to have a conversation with Mr. Rossi, doesn't he? This is definitely up for grabs with the RATS on the losing side.
