Strains Between McCain and Palin Aides Go Public

Report: Palin's Wardrobe Is to Be Audited by GOP

Now that the defeated team of Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin have gone their separate ways, the knives are out and Palin is the one who is getting filleted.

Revelations from anonymous critics from within the McCain-Palin campaign suggest a number of complaints about the Alaskan governor:

Fox News reports that Palin didn't know Africa was a continent and did not know the member nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement -- the United States, Mexico and Canada -- when she was picked for vice president.

The New York Times reports that McCain aides were outraged when Palin staffers scheduled her to speak with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, a conversation that turned out to be a radio station prank.

Newsweek reports that Palin spent far more than the previously reported $150,000 on clothes for herself and her family.

Several publications say she irked the McCain campaign by asking to make her own concession speech on election night.

The tension is likely to continue or get worse. Lawyers for the Republican National Committee are heading to Alaska to try to account for all the money that was spent on clothing, jewelry and luggage, according to The New York Times.

Excuse me, but what business it is of yours to scrutinize Sarah Palin’s college record? Why don’t you post your own records from kindergarten ot scrutinize?! Sick, sick vouyerism! ..... Revolting cat!

What is point? She is smart enuf to govern a city and state and poll above 80%. I doubt you or I could have done those things WELL, like her. .... Diogenesis

The “point” is getting elected in a general election.

The “point”, as another poster rightly observed, is that Sarah Palin has been “Dan Quailed” and most voters that are not conservative believe her to be as dumb as a box of rocks. Rightly or wrongly, that is the perception in the U.S. of A. in the Year 2008.

The interview with Katie Couric where she could not name a single newspaper she read did nothing to counteract that impression.

Does Sarah Palin Read?

Not knowing what the member states of NAFTA are does nothing to counteract that impression.

Do you really believe, Revolting cat, that if the majority of American voters believe that Sarah Palin is not intellectually qualified to be President that they will vote for her just because you say, "Excuse me, but what business it is of yours"?

Free Republic is currently treating Sarah Palin like it once treated Katherine Harris. Like 13 year old schoolboys, Free Republic once gushed over Katherine Harris because A.) She was conservative and B.) She looked hot in a tight T-shirt while riding a horse.

In a general election, simply being conservative and being cute or lovable or “hot” does not get you very far. In the end, Katherine Harris turned out to be an electoral disaster.

But to get back to Palin, she was not the mayor of a “city”. Seattle is a city. Chicago is a city. Houston is a city.

Wasilla is a small town of 9,700. I now live in a small town that is larger than Wasilla and, trust me, you don’t have to have an I.Q. above room temperature to get elected Mayor.

Alaska has a population of 683,478. Dade County, Florida is three and a half times larger than all of Alaska in terms of population with a population of 2,387,170.

Getting an 80% approval rating in the wilds of Alaska does not translate in the Lower 48.

Be that as it may, the Free Republic Sarah Palin Fan Club is now cheering wildly for Sarak Palin to head the Presidential ticket in 2012.

Anybody that suggests, “Hey, let’s ckeck out her fund of knowlege” is attacked.

Anybody that points out, “Bragging about that fact that Palin attended five colleges in four years as an undergraduate is not really helping her appeal to the average American voter” is attacked.

The bottom line is that such a fact is a Red Flag and an investigation of that Red Flag shows that Palin first attended a college, as a Business major, where an SAT score in the mid 500’s put you at the 75th percentile and she then went to a community college for General Education that will not even post the SAT percintile score of its student body.

Whether you like it or not, the majority of American voters are not conservative and they DO ask whether or not their candidates for President of the United States are smarter than their Cousin Vinny.

Sarah Paslin’s performance after the Convention raised serious doubts about that.

Polling data has showed that Palin was a major factor in driving Moderates and Independents to Obama and Obama won. He won big.

In 2012, a Republican ticket with Sarah Palin at the top has as much chance of winning a general election as a Green Party ticket with Cynthia McKinney at the top.

As far as doing things “well”, if you had been asked what countries are in NAFTA, you would have answered correctly.

If you had been asked what newspapers and magazines you read artlicles from, you could have rattled off an entire laundry list of them as any regular FR poster could have.

Sarah Palin could not do that.

That is not “doing well” when you are trying to prove you belong in the Oval Office. That is driving the majority of the American voters to the other side.

As I said, I don’t watch TV interviews, and don’t consider the TV interviewers as my trusted representatives, as you apparently do, when they interrogate politicians. I’ve seen no evidence that Palin is any dumber than long time Senator Biden. By the way, did you hear that he mentioned President Hoover having gone on television back in the 20s or 30s? Maybe you didn’t, because most voters who think of Palin as dumb didn’t. She got Dan Quayled by your trusted representatives in the media, as any nominee in her position would have been. We know the size of Alaska, of Wasilia, thank you very much.

What do you know about Biden’s college record? Why, how about 0bamas? I trust the FReepers here and their noses as I trust my own nose - when we voted, as we say, for Sarah Palin, we voted for character not for a candidate who can list the capitol of Slovenia. Can you? Can Biden? Can 0bama? What about Slovakia? Or is it one and the same country?

(This is no flame, and thank you for your detailed response.)

One more thing. Your points are well taken, but you fail to step back and observe how the impressions of Sarah Palin had been created and manipulated by the media in their entirety. She had nothing to do with that, any more than Cary Grant the person had anything to do with the impression the public had of him based on the movies he was in And that includes your own impressions, I’m afraid. I don’t know Sarah palin, and neither you do. 7 year old Piper Palin knows her better than either one of us, or the dumb voters who think themselves superior to her.

I almost take it for granted that the msm is going to distort this to even greater heights than it started as, but I believe that the people on the campaign are throwing her under the bus. They need to be exposed and pushed aside just for feeding the rabid media their own pick for VP.
