Dear Sen. McCain:
Sir, you must be aware that the media has been on fire passing along vicious rumors from unattributed sources within your campaign attacking Sarah Palin. You are the only one who can put an end to this. You chose your campaign staff, and you chose your running mate. To paraphrase Harry Truman, the buck stops with you.
If you are indeed the stand-up guy I believe you to be, please, investigate, get the facts, call a press conference, name names (as you promised to do with any of your colleagues who introduced pork-laden bills), tell the truth and put this rumor-mongering to rest.
I know you are aware of the fact that Gov. Palin did quite a lot to build enthusiasm for your campaign. I've heard you acknowledge such in public. You asked her to run with you, and she gave it all she had. Don't you think you owe it to her and all of those who supported the McCain-Palin ticket to clear all of this speculation up? If it is allowed to continue, it will only serve to harm your reputation, Gov. Palin's and the reputations of those in your campaign who acted honorably.
Sarah Palin and your supporters stood up for you when you asked them to. Now it's your turn, Senator. Stand up! Speak out!
Sincerely,
- JP
The silence is deafening...
Where is your self-professed “honor” now, Sen. McCain?
Nobody cares what McCain thinks about anything.
I’ve lost whatever respect I gained for Senator McCain this election cycle due to his silence in this matter.
Maybe he’s too busy getting cozy with Obama right now.
We need to make it clear that if he fails to stand up now and defend HER reputation, there will be no need to worry about HIS in the future.
Obama, they'll defend... but: a conservative woman? NAAAAHHHHHHHHH.
You want that pussy to speak out? HAHA! He would even bring up Jeremiah Wright once! John McCain is a pathetic RINO who should be ousted in the next primary he faces, before he does even more damage to our Republic.
He was pretty quick to criticize and condemn anyone that criticized Obama, wasn’t he? He has removed all doubt. He is a loser.
Her selection did a lot to change peoples minds. I had been angry for a long time and her running opened my mind and my pocket book. Republicans beware of true conservatives who can easily go right back to where we started.
Same place everything else he owns is, I imagine: Fat Teddy's hip pocket.
I think he feels he gave her credit during his concession speech and that’s enough.
I agree, he should come out and reaffirm no rift between them, and again his appreciation for what she did for his candidacy.
He could also say that all this other talk is irrelevant, and that we should all work towards bringing the country back onto its feet.
McCain was Dole, just not as dull and not as liberal. If the GOP gives up on Sarah, I give up with the GOP.
The bum needs to move on over to D side of the aisle, where he has belonged for a long long time.
Looks like its not going to happen because if Mac had any honor left he would have spoken up by now. If he speaks up soon then I will take that back, but I am not holding my breath. Very sad.
Let’s say for the sake of argument, they aren’t rumors. Or while maybe exagerated, are rooted in truth.
What should Mac do then?
I think McCain lost when he defended Obama. No reason to be afraid of Obama he is an honorable man.. ect
