SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) A man laid off recently from his job in Silicon Valley shot and killed three people, believed to be former co-workers, at an office park on Friday, police in the ailing U.S. technology hub said.
The 47-year-old suspect, identified by police as Jing Wu, was still at large after gunning down two men and a woman shortly before 4 p.m. local time (0000 GMT), Santa Clara, California, police told local media.

I'd like to know if the company (Siport Semiconductor) had an official disarmament policy.

A more likely culprit for a state of disarmament among the sane employees would be the city of Santa Clara. Just a guess.

Expect more of this as the Depression Looms large. More and more will go Postal or take their own lives as things get rough. When times are tough, people need to get tougher. We are Americans after all. What did we do when the Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor? We are going to have to band together, let families work together, until we can work our way out of this mess. The Liberals and their War on Poverty got us on this road to ruin. Now we Americans need to band together to set things right.

You describe the Americans that were around when JFK told people
to ask themselves what they can do for their country.
The recent election confirms that a majority of Americans now
ask "what can my country do for me".
In terms of just handing them more cash, even if all the work
they did for it was to cast a ballot.
Honestly, I'm not that totally pessimistic. But the triumph of
Obama says more about US citizens than it does about the real Obama.

This was part of John Belushi’s get-tough pep talk in “Animal House”. Classic movie and funny line!

You need to rent/buy a DVD of “Animal House”.
The line is uttered by John Belushi while giving a “let’s fight back”
speech when they find out their fraternity is about to be shut down.
One of the frat brothers whispers something like “The Germans didn’t
bomb Pearl Harbor” to the frat president...who whispers back
“Don’t stop him, he’s on a roll”.
Obviously, the film is a relic...back when some college students
actually knew some (unrevised) history!!!

I guess its a sign of the times when a story about 3 people being brutally murdered recieves more joke posts than serious posts. Seems right on par though with the Darwin award threads reveling in some poor fools misery and suffereing.
