Election spurs 'hundreds' of race threats, crimes

Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting "Assassinate Obama." Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.

From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.

There have been "hundreds" of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes.

Oh gosh I thought this going to be one of the many stories about large groups of Black students harassing Whites and getting in their faces about how they now rule and can do anything they like.

Also the story about the Black woman that went up to a cop in a police car and reached in and slapped him.

She told him he couldn't arrest her because Obama was President now.

Where are these stories?

I would rather take the word of law enforcement agencies than this group who have been long been associated with exaggeration.

Certainly, there have been incidents, no doubt, but the frequency is a matter for official agencies to publish.

Speaking of violence, how many whites have been forced at gunpoint to "share their wealth" with black street criminals since the elections? Probably hard to tell. Those accounts rarely make the news.

There was a video the other day they showed on Fox and maybe some other stations.

It was a young black mother and her 7 yr old (or so) daughter calling Obama all kinds of names.

Her and her daughter using the F word and saying the most vile things about Obama.

It was really weird
