Yes, you should be frightened about the GOP's future. It is reaping the rewards of sissification you helped sow, Mr. Frum. With any luck, a conservative party will rise from the ashes.

Frum, Parker and Buckley broke the 11th Commandment. There’s no room for them here.

I am really and truly frightened by the collapse of support for the Republican Party by the young and the educated

They are no longer "educated", they are INDOCTRINATED! We know that those grand socialist schemes do not work; they don't.

It seems those always demanding tolerance from others are the least willing to display it themselves.

How does one get the title “conservative intellectual” bestowed upon one?

Or, as I suspect, are they self-annointed?

In any case, this joker seems more like a “Republicrat pseudo-intellectual” to me.

These people got what they wanted. They wanted McCain, they wanted his moderate positions, they wanted him to reach out to Hispanics— MCCAIN DID EVERYTHING THEY WANTED.

And now that we’ve been whooped using THEIR strategy— they jump ship as if it was OUR fault!!! LOL these people...

Get lost, Frum & Co. You know the old saying, “the cowards never started, and the weak died along the way.”

So long, mushy RINO weaklings.

The only vibrant discussion we need is how do we convince the young and educated of the need to rein in government.

Palin was up for that discussion, Buckley wasn’t. From doesn’t know up from down.

Frum was worried about his status with the elite in DC—especially the dinner parties. Now he is assured of many requests to be the Republican voice on a myriad of talkshows. Good riddance, Frum and while you’re at it, why not become an Independent, too.

Why dump on Palin, who was elected statewide and had a 85 % approval rating, and say virtually nothing about the alchoholic , barely coherent VP -elect Biden or the exotic foreigner at the top of the ticket?

Why pick a fight like that in the middle of a campaign? Why is Frum such a twit?

"I am really and truly frightened by the collapse of support for the Republican Party by the young and the educated."

What Frum should have wrote:

I am really and truly frightened by the collapse of support for the Republican Party by the indoctrinated youth young and those educated beyond their intelligence level the educated

The intellectualism isn't the problem it is the lack of a clear message that people can follow/really get behind. I know there are some that like to rip on others for “usen dem big werds” but to say that stupidity reigns as the argument simply doesn't hold true.

Palin wasn't the problem, McCain was. If he could have put together a good enough story and articulated in a way that inspired competence then the ticket would have done better.

As a Democrat, watching the circular firing squad that the GOP has become is quite entertaining.

They don't care if we're fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, RINOs, CINOs or bluebloods....as long as we're all fighting each other.

Whatever happened to Hara-kiri?

Be done with it, Mr. Frum. You classless RINO.

the problem was that mccain himself wasn’t an intellectual so how could he have picked one? It takes one to know one, right?

Palin was mccain’s choice, not ours, but she was better and stronger than him and that is why conservatives rallied to her defense.

Davie baby, how short sighted of you, tsk, tsk. I believe that this new and virtually untested poseur will trip over his own shoe laces. There will be a long and low groan coming over the fruited plains as the big 'O' fumbles from crisis to crisis. The Republican party will benefit.

Elitist idiots who are out of touch with the real world will never be able to understand it or how normal people have to survive.

Palin was and is a breath of fresh air and a lot of ordinary conservative folks like us just love here, her hunting, her folksy way of talking and are more than happy when elitists like this guy get his pants caught in his butt.

Buckley ENDORSED OBAMA. That’s not “dissent”.

And I never heard of parker but she wrote of Buckley

“Christopher Buckley, ever the swashbuckling heir to his father’s defiant spirit, walked the plank so that the sinking mother ship might right itself.

No doubt his seafaring father is cheering from heaven: “Ahoy there, Christo! Well done, my son.””

Sounds like a flakey witch to me.

NR is better off without these 3 tools. Give their space to real writers.
