I thought it was a Parents job to rear a child til kindergarden. Teach them to walk, talk, think use the toilet, and start to think like a human being. Maybe even how to do a little math and do their a,b,c,s.
It is not the job of others to raise your offspring. NOr is it my job to pay for others offspring.
The propagandists want to get to the children ASAP! It’s not about education, it’s about indoctrination!
Good for you. Kids need time to learn they are the center of the universe to their parents so they can develop the ability to share and be kind to others in school. When a child is perpetually deprived of attention and love when they need it (and not just during the mythical “quality time” in their parents’ planners), they will act out to get attention or compete with other kids to ensure get what they want. Those preschool years between consciousness as a distinct person and the regimentation of school is so important for them to establish themselves and build up trust and self-esteem, which is based on how their parents treat them. Take that time away and sometimes the kids will spend the rest of their lives trying to have a happy childhood, to the detriment of all.
You misunderstand the situation. Pre k is not about the children, it is about the educators.
The pre K children are fodder for the new teacher jobs.
what happens to the kids is irrelevant.
What percentage of kids are escaping brainwashing by starting school at five years old instead of four?
I didn’t go to kindergarten. First grade was the first time I had ever been in any sort fo school. I can’t imagine having been in school for one or two more years.
I don’t think I misunderstand but I was addressing the issues from the point of view of the children and parents. The teachers have their own aims in mind. There are the jobs to be garnered from pre-K, of course, but I think the group most likely to be benefitted by pre-K is probably those who wish to indoctrinate the kids into the “proper” social attitudes of socialism, collectivism, respect for authority, and compliance. I agree that the well-being of the kids is secondary to the desires of the education industrial complex for more maleable students, and, yes, jobs.
I remember years ago looking into personality groups. One group, representing about 38% of the general population, was characterized by respect for authority, traditions and the need for clear procedures for everything. The groups tend to be self-selecting in careers: People with this personality type gravitated towards law enforcement, military life, and teaching. In fact, about 90% of teachers fell into this personality type.
my niece is in pre-school right now and she’s definitely better off for it. She’s 4 years old and she already know all of these facts about the Bible. If she was at home, she probably would be watching TV all day. My sister has another 2 year old and herself (not feeling so well) to take care of.
But it’s a private religious pre-school. No public school at all for anyone in my family.
No universal preK!!!!
no universal pre-k by the govt.
