JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Zimbabwe has barred former U.N. secretary general Kofi Annan, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and other prominent figures from visiting the country to assess the humanitarian crisis, the group said on Saturday.
They said they were denied travel visas to Zimbabwe despite the intervention of former South African president Thabo Mbeki, who is mediating the political conflict between President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

Possibly the only good decision Robert Mugabe has ever made. The situation in Zimbabwe is bad enough without Carter and Annan making it worse.

Annan and carter, between the two of them you have enough brightness to barely cast a shadow

There is only room for one insane dictator in Zimbabwe.

Idiot Carter, still running around trying to overcome the legacy of his failed administration. Typical ‘rat, doesn’t know when he’s irrelevant, and no respect for the actual President in office. It’s not his job to run around trying to interfere with foreign policy. Seems to be a ‘rat trait-just see Jesse Jackson, Gore, et al.

Didn't carter once report on how wonderful the free and fair elections were in Zimbabwe, and wasn't he an early supporter of Robert Mugabe?

Oh the tragedy that these two esteemed marxists would be barred from going anywhere on earth.
Not to worry, "The One" will fix things for them soon.

Someone should snap a picture of Annan and Carter together in the evening, and give it a still life title, “Two Narcissists at Dinner.”
To: rdb3
But Mugabe owes his enire power to those two. Why doesn’t the press now ask Carter if he made a huge mistake to support and prop up this tyranical dictator (and how many other “mistakes” of similar kind he has made).

I’m just happy for the Secret Service folks who would have had to follow Jimmah into that hellhole. It would be fine with me if he and Kofi had to spend the rest of their lives as cellmates there, but they would have shot every SS man whose duty it was to take that bullet for that worthless POS.
