Jimmy Carter says Zimbabwe crisis is 'much worse' than imagined

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today said Zimbabwe's humanitarian crisis was far worse than he could have imagined and expressed dismay that Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and his government refused to acknowledge the problem even existed.

"The entire basic structure in education, healthcare, feeding people, social services and sanitation has broken down," Carter told a news conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. "These are all indications that the crisis in Zimbabwe is much greater, much worse than we had ever imagined."

Carter was part of a delegation that was denied entry into Zimbabwe last week to assess the crisis. The delegation members also included U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Grace Machel, the wife of former South African President Nelson Mandela.

“Because they wouldn’t let me in. Now, if Mugabe had wined and dined me, I’d have given him a clean bill.”

Yeah Jimmy it is called Afro Marxism. You “verified” the election for another dictator named Chavez. You said it was a fair election which was nonsense.

Ain’t Jimmy brilliant and now we have “elected” another African to lead the US. If it is good enough for so many african nations it must be good enough for the US, right?

Jimmy proves yet again that he is an ignorant moron.

It’s about exactly as bad as I had “imagined” so I guess I’m so much wiser than that group of “elders” that Jimmy assembled to be wise men to the world.

Carter could have come onto FR and saved himself some time by reading Cathy Buckle’s long-running series on Zimbabwe

Who wants to bet that American taxpayers will soon be bailing them out (more than we already do)?

And who’s going to pay for all these bailouts when the American taxpayer’s back is broken?
