The Minnesota Circus (Democrat Senate may overturn election result favoring Coleman)

The Minnesota Circus

By Philip Klein on 11.25.08 @ 5:18PM

Earlier today, I spoke to several Norm Coleman campaign representatives to get their perspective on the ongoing recount. Here are some of the things they emphasized:

-- They believed the current margin was somewhere in the middle of the 160 to 211 vote range.

-- They were confident that Franken did not make the gains he should have in the highly Democratic and populated Hennepin, Ramsey, and St. Louis counties. They said they were basing this claim on the hard count, not on the fact that Coleman challenges were removing more votes from the Franken stack.

-- Tomorrow, they said they anticpate a "circus" as there is a hearing before the state Canvassing Board, which will rule on whether to count up to 6,400 rejected absentee ballots. They said they anticipate that the Board will rule that the ballots will not be counted, and that the Franken campaign will eventually pursue further legal action on this matter.

-- "I have never seen the intensity in terms of upsetting the apple cart than I have seen on the Franken side," said one representative. "They are pulling out all the stops."

-- There is a chance that the Democratic Senate could get involved, by either declaring the seat vacant, or having Coleman appointed on a provisional basis, one official posited.

Since Coleman’s lead is 213 but he has 40 more challenges against Franken, and the challenges are probably going to more or less cancel each other out, it appears Coleman is leading by about 170 votes. At least,I think that’s how it works.

Just because the socialists have stolen another senate seat, committed innumerable felonies, and overthrown a legally constituted government, you all are acting like they somehow did a bad thing.

It's all for your own good. You rednecks are just too dumb to vote for a government that will steal from... sorry, TAX the rich so that all people will be completely equal, except, naturally, your Leftist nobility.

I’m hoping that soon, here in 2008, we will have Sore Franken-stein” stickers for the sore loser.

well on the non bright side, I suppose that just instead of annoying one state, He’ll continue to annoy us all.

Hey Al, yer Smally character really really sucked, I’ll buy a ticket to see you foam at the mouth. That’s your new gig. And change your name to Alawishis Frantarkitus. I’d buy that for a dollar.

Yeah it seems like the better known SNL members are the least talented. I’ve always despised Tina Fey and Franken... sheesh talk about untalented and unfunny.

Franken does not have to win.

Even if he loses, the democratic controlled senate can just put him in.

The senate has the ultimate say on any prospective senator.

They do not have to go along with the will of the people just because of the way the votes go.

Needless to say, Franken will be the one that goes to the senate.

Our Constitutional Republic has been usurped by democracy.

Well, what the heck, the Dims are past masters at stealing elections anyway. Just ask our Gov here in Washington, the lovely Christine Gregoire (or any Chicago resident, or review the history of “Landslide” Lyndon Johnson, or the election of JFK). So the fact they are seeking a new means to an old end is not surprising.

Thx for the ping, SNL has devolved, but we did get some good folk, I’ll never forget some of those crazy skits.

Point of contention. not that I disagree out of a sense of pride for the clap trap that is SNL now, but I gotta say at least Tina Fey is a cutie, (will the real Sarah Palin please stand up...) especially when compared to the Al Frankendoodledeboperopenhimer. I’d rather be pinned to the ground by Liliputions, forced to watch Penn and Teller than AL Frakenshnitzel.
I can make more fun of idiot boys name (both) but I must digress, I think Tina Fey is gonna do whatever Tina Fey is gonna do, in retrospect Tina should have not been so snarkey, Not like Tina threw the election or anything like that, but she would have made more for, and of, herself if the pub ticket had passed. So now what, for her part in the assanine Charactor assasination of SP she will get a movie deal. It’s sure to pass. In 4 years from now a former Tina Fey movie would (will) be forgotten, and SP can only soar. my only question would be to Tina Fey 4 years in the future is this: Was it really worth it?

“Even if he loses, the democratic controlled senate can just put him in.”

Does the Governor have a veto over legislation?

I think Minnesota needs a revolution. Then, come next January, the nation needs one.

Most imbeciles who would vote for Franken or Obomba would wet their pants.

I know McLame was a poor choice, but Palin balanced that ticket. All the Biden addition did was to infuriate the right wing even more.
