Having Volcker advising is not that bad of a thing

I agree, I was in B-school in 1979-80 and remember my teachers thought Volker was doing exactly the Castor Oil treatment needed at the time...

Change finds its roots in ‘Peanut’ Carter. Good grief!

"Volcker is Trilateralist as well."

They pretty much all are on both sides.

Shouldn't that be, "three" sides?

Isn’t this the same guy who they chose to do the oil for food investigation that let Koffi off and blamed some of it on his son?

And he did a wonderful job prosecuting/investigating the UN Oil for Food fiasco.

He’s part of the problem. Who do you think caused all of this economic woe? (and every downturn since the Fed was established)

CFR/Trilates/bank trust people like Volcker.

Obama is just a puppet. Thank God

Obama appointees, Tim Geithner and Larry Summers were invitees to the 2008 Bilderberg Conference.

He was 47 then. He’s 81 now. That’s 9 years older than that geezer McCain. The one that was too old, remember?

CHANGE????? Volcker is 81 years old! Obama tried to say that McCain was to old.

Obama is running out of time with the con job that he’s trying to lay on America. Note this petition against his potential lack of U.S. citizenship:

I give Volker credit as did Reagan for bringing the Carter inflation period to an end setting the stage for real prosperity. He did it by imposing 15% to 20% interest rates

Ouch. Maybe so but it was an awful time having lived through it. 13% home fixed mortgage rates were viewed as a bargain in early 1982.

Where is a good place to get valid information on CFR/Trilateral commission, etc. I vaguely know what it is but not all that much about it, I know there is a lot of speculation but I’m just curious about what it really is.

Volcker is "change"?

What's next? William Westmoreland at Defense? McGeorge Bundy at State? Jimmy Carter at Housing and Urban Development?

Volcker was on the Emergency Coalition for U.S. Financial Support of the United Nations which urges that the US "pay its legal obligations to the United Nations and should, in the future, pay its legal obligations on time." Volcker is also on the Board of Directors of the United Nations Association of the United States of America. In short, Volcker is one of the voices calling for "reform" of the UN so that it can fulfill its mission as dreamed of by its founders.

If the guy was as smart as advertised he'd want the UN "reformed" out of existence.

Hope this link still worlks : "Conflict of Interest Seen in Oil-for-Food Investigation" http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,174458,00.html

*************

... FoxNews tonight reported that no less a personage than Paul Volker, former Federal Reserve chief, who heads the entire investigation of the U.N. for the U.N., has major league ties to TotalFinaELF, the French oil company which handled the illegal oil transfers, and Bank Paribas, the French bank which laundered billions of Saddam dollars. Paging Senator Coleman!

..."Its all about the oil" was the chant issued by a vast army of protesters around the world. Yes, it may have been "all about the oil" – but it didn't involve Americans, who did not own any of the oil in Iraq, but rather a horde of rich global fat cats who wanted to make millions in a so-called U.N. humanitarian program.
One of those who made out like a bandit is a rich Canadian [Maurice Strong] whose bank made millions and whose Paris-based holding companies include the originally French-Belgian oil company TotalFina Elf, which cut lucrative deals with Saddam's Iraq and is currently operating in war-torn Sudan.Various congressional committees have launched hearings into what has been described as the biggest corruption scandal in history. Not surprisingly, U.N. officials have refused to cooperate with the congressional investigations.
The investigations have turned up a number of damning facts that point directly to the incompetence at best, complicity at worst of the most senior U.N. officials and those involved.
It is now well known, for example, that U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan's own son was getting big cash payments from a Swiss firm that profited from the program, in return for his "expert" opinions and advice. Recently published evidence shows that Annan's son was paraded as a high-level contact within the U.N.

APRIL 2, 2003 : (UK : ARREST OF IRAQI BILLIONAIRE NADHIM ACUCHI / AUCHI -- SEE FRENCH OIL CO ELF {SEE TOTAL FINA ELF, OIL FOR FOOD SCANDAL }, REZCO {SEE OBAMA}) On April 2, 2003, the British Government announced the arrest on a French extradition warrant of Nadhim Acuchi, 65, an Iraqi billionaire, to testify in a corruption and embezzlement trail involving the former French oil company Elf. According to Scotland Yard, after an initial hearing, the Bow Street magistrates’ court in London granted Auchi bail to appear on three counts of conspiracy to defraud.
The trail follows an eight-year investigation during which French authorities issued an international arrest warrant for Auchi. The trial is expected that the trial will last about four months. According to media reports, Auchi is Britain’s 13th richest man. He has an estimated $ 1.2 billion worth of assets, ranging from shipping to hotels.

This seriously would be a relief, if only it was true, but it would also help to make both a successful GOP political comeback and a successful political comeback by all of U.S. conservatism much more difficult in ‘10 and ‘12. I seriously see a long-term “mess” coming to the entire U.S., no matter what both a President Obama and a leftist dominated Congress either does or doesn’t do on all issues.
