One purpose of the attack was to divert Pakistan from fighting militants in the tribal areas, to protecting the border with India.

I wonder what kind of operational knowledge would be useful from a country where guns are prohibited and the police won't shoot back. I'd think that if something like that were to happen here (coordinated attacks on downtown urban centers), that the armed populace of the United States wouldn't wait to be told what to do, the armed citizenry would rally like a second amendment militia and respond.

Something I have been wondering- I hope those of you that have really been following the issues with India lately will give me your thoughts on this:

India recently took on the pirates and I have read some stuff that claims the pirates are directly connected to terrorists/Al Queda—could these attacks be retaliation for the Indian attacks on the pirates?

Connections I have seen some make between pirates and major terrorist organizations are that the major terrorist organizations are having a hard time with financing due to restrictions/attention paid to organizations that are known to fund them- tighter restrictions on wire transfers and things of that type and that the upswing in pirate activity is it is one new way of financing terrorist activities. If that is true it would seem to follow that India disrupting that would draw the wrath of terrorists.

I know there are a lot of ins and outs to this and it is not as simple as one angle; there could be many reasons for the attacks on India- to cause trouble between India and Pakistan seems to be a favorite explanation. It just seems like a connection to me that one week India is sinking pirate ships and the next week they are under attack.

I have been thinking just that since this incident hit the Internet news services.

I have little doubt that the Indian counter terrorism forces have had American training. Perfect training mission for future exercises on American assaults by the nutjobs.

Unfortunately, I have been working a lot lately and have not had time to review the media takes.

What’s to stop a couple of dozen Muzzie Terrorists from getting into four or five vans with sliding doors on each side and driving down Broadway in NYC or Michigan Avenue in Chicago with guns blazing? In Chicago, they would start at Watertower Place, just north of the river and head south. AK’s and grenade launchers spewing lead and rockets into the shopping crowds. They end up at the Hilton Towers and all run inside...take the place over and kill everyone in sight?

How hard could that be? We KNOW the terrorists are HERE in the USA, they can get the weapons...what is stopping them???

They will hit us, but i think that they know exactly what we will do as far as operations.
All they are doing now is stretching their wings, and our forces. Keep us thin and on the defensive.
I agree that the answer is to start extermination of these rat bastards as fast as possible though.
Force states to accept and allow HR 218 registration easier.
Encourage all the good citizens of this country to arm themselves and train for any eventuality of a terrorist attack.

However with OhBombUS coming into office all those things will happen in reverse.
