Va. GOP chief: Obama remark was stupid but true

Virginia's Republican chairman said Tuesday that his remark tying Democrat Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden during the presidential campaign was stupid, but he refused to apologize.

During the campaign, GOP head Jeff Frederick told a small group of Republican volunteers that "both Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have friends that have bombed the Pentagon."

The remark, a reference to Obama's ties years ago to 1960s-era radical William Ayers, was condemned by Democrats and Republicans after it was published in Time magazine.

Ayers was a founder of the Weather Underground, a radical, Vietnam War-era group that claimed responsibility for a series of bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol.

Well, gee! If the shoe fits, wear it! No apology necessary.

Well, that’s a down right witty remark. And politicos are incensed because the remark is untrue at all levels or just insensitive?

The remark is true.

As Americans we all ought to be ashamed of that fact. Barry Soetoro/Barack Hussein Obama II is the nominee going into the Electoral College this December 15th, and most likely to emerge as President Elect.

There are times I imagine that this must be some crazy parallel universe, because it sure seems absurd!

Witty and true yes.

Something the Party Chair needs to say? Not so much. Better left to the Limbaughs and Hannitys.

“Va. GOP chief: Obama remark was stupid but true”

Nothing stupid about it. This statement is true. It bears repeating.

As least this Jeff Frederick guy is a Republican with some backbone. He’s a rare bird.

Why do we need to sensitive to someone who has terrorist friends? Geez, I guess if George Bush had friends who were involved in church bombings in the ‘60’s, the left would exhibit all kinds of restraint and sensitivity.

"Guess some folks just can’t handle the truth."

How true.....truth has become politically incorrect. Seems it happened about the time the Klinton's ushered in the most ethical administration in history.

Apologise for what - speaking the truth? I’d like the MSM to point out just what is factually incorrect about his statement.

Where was all the angst when “Sinator” Durban likened GWB to Hitler? If they dish it out they better be willing to take it!!!

I for one am tired of rinky-dinking around with these double standard jerks, they don’t want to provide solutions but want to keep riding a dying horse over a cliff while they bully anyone who would question their motives or sanity.

Bring on the fight!!!

I fail to see what’s either stupid or untrue about that statement?

Perhaps Obama and Osama would have preferred semantic corrections:

Both have “associates” who “attacked” the Pentagon

There- fixed it

The beautiful thing about truthful knowledge is it is manageable. It can be effectively and efficiently utilized to get the best solution. Hiding, avoiding and sugar coating the truth,,,, ...such as Ayers (and the bulk of BHO bubble, (unknown trojan unknowns)) can only lead us to disaster or near disaster.

I think this election will (possibly) be looked upon as the greatest heist in American history for similar reasons.

The trouble is, Hannity and Limbaugh are preaching to the choir. We need some GOP leaders with spine to speak out.
