The only car on that list I’d actually want to steal would be the S2K. I drove one that belonged to a friend of mine; that thing was a BLAST!!!

Could one surmise, since they’re almost all American models, that their entry and security systems are substandard in some way to the foreign cars, and therefore make them easier to steal?

Car thieves don’t usually steal cars for resale or to drive. Cars are stolen so that they can be sent to chop shops and cut up for parts and scrap.

I wonder if the Escalade's numbers include the ones "commandeered" by New Orleans PD during Katrina, LOL!

I love it when they catch these guys. Had a 1978 Ford Bronco stolen from my driveway in the middle of the day - never found.

I’ve got one. Don’t understand how the ‘average claim’ is 18,791, given the cost ‘off the lot’ is close to 70K.

Wonder if Terry McAuliffe still drives that big ass Escalade?

Had Vanity Plates that read “DNC”. We ragged on him that it was for “Does Not Conserve” and “Does Not Care”.

Subaru Forester is on the least-stolen list for a reason. Monkey with one o’ them and a coupla burly dykes come barreling down the driveway screaming and waving their favorite baseball bats.

Trucks Still Maintain Top Stolen Vehicle Spots

Saturday, August 9, 2008 – updated: 5:02 pm MDT August 9, 2008

EL PASO, Texas -- Since the start of 2008, trucks have remained the top stolen vehicles for El Paso.

According to The El Paso County Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Task Force, there have been 103 Chevrolet
Silverado 1500 trucks taken this year.

The Ford F-150 has been stolen 99 times, followed by the Ford F-250 with 67 trucks stolen and the Ford F-350
with 44 trucks taken..

One SUV rounds out the top five with 43 taken thus far.

The El Paso County Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Task Force urges motorists to lock their cars, take the keys
and use anti-theft devices, such as alarms, kill switches and locking devices.

They also said to keep all valuables out of sight.
