I’m glad to see that JJ Sr. has lawyered up b/c that indicates he was involved in some way. Whether he will be prosecuted for anything remains to be seen of course, but I’m glad to think of him sweating it out. Also, I still don’t understand this bit about JJ Jr. getting forewarning from the US Attorney’s office the night before Blago was arrested. Why would they tell ANYONE outside of LE? Did they want to see whether he’d be dumb enough to leak to Blago or what??

“In two other interesting developments Wednesday, NBC Chicago learned that Jackson Jr. was given a phone call from the U.S. Attorney’s Office the night before the governor was taken into custody, advising him that the arrest was imminent. Also, the congressman’s father, Jesse Jackson Sr., has retained legal council following the Blagojevich arrest.”

Even funnier, it says Candidate number 5 “can’t be trusted”, and is known to go back on the deal. So Number 5 would have to pony up some bucks right away.

Obama said “What a sad day”.

Funny, but it seems like a joyful day to me when crooked scumbuckets get nailed.

But I guess it's a matter of perspective... I'm an American, he's a Kenyan.

They gave JJJ a phone call because they wanted to personally relish the moment he pissed in his pant and ran to his daddy. Just a personal delight for the prosecutors office, a “perk” if you will. I know I would have enjoyed that phone call:

Hello?

Yes, this is JJJ, how can I help you?

Yes, this is Pat Fitz, just a courtesy call. Just wanted to let you know you and Pops are going to need some legal reps regarding that seat you were trying to buy.

JJJ, god that was fun... you need to pull yourself together, stop crying, its no big deal. Your a Democrat and black, relax. We can't touch you with ten foot pole..... right?

Good point, it must have been fun for Fitz’ team to make them sweat, I guess..... but I thought prosecutors are supposed to be above that sort of thing..... :^)

Maybe they have a prosecutorial reason such as seeing who leaks, who talks to whom at that point, etc. Or maybe they really just wanted to be able to hit the ground running the next morning and not wait long for the JJs to be lawyered up.
