Connecticut is one of 16 states nationwide criticized in a new report for failing to give its residents who are serving in the military overseas enough time to vote.

The study, by The Pew Center on the States, takes Connecticut to task for sending out absentee ballots after the date necessary for military voters to meet all required deadlines. The study in all 50 states and the District of Columbia examined the process that military personnel stationed overseas have to go through to vote.

The article does not list the 16 states but I bet they are all blue states.

Most probably controlled by dRATs knowing most military votes go GOP. This is just simply a get out to ‘stop’ the vote.

Not just probably, but actually controlled by a supermajority of rats. Susan Byseiwicz, secretary of state, is a hardcore rat.

The states along with the District of Columbia that Pew said did not provide enough time to cast ballots are: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

Residents of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii and Rhode Island must return their ballots by fax or e-mail to meet voting deadlines, the study found.

Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Vermont only give overseas servicemembers five days to fill out their ballots, the study found.

Plus, this is very disturbing: The Election Assistance Commission found that just one-third of the 1 million ballots distributed in the 2006 election to those serving overseas were cast or counted.

While I was stationed overseas, it frequently took longer than 5 days to get mail.
You can forget about filling in the absentee vote and mailing it.

Ever since the Sore/Loserman mess in 2000, I’ve been convinced that military votes are being “lost” or otherwise supressed. Sad indeed that they fight and die for this country but can’t get their votes counted.

I agree on military ballots being lost or supressed.

Also know that in Oklahoma we have a RAT Governor and the head of the Board of Elections is a RAT. In 2010, we aim to turn that around and maybe then our military will have the right to have their ballots counted with plenty of time. This shows how important it is for Republicans to be elected Governor and rules put in place to protect military ballots and their voting rights.
