Palin: Media goes easy on Kennedy

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) believes Caroline Kennedy is getting softer press treatment in her pursuit of the New York Senate seat than Palin did as the GOP vice presidential nominee because of Kennedy’s social class.

“I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope,” Palin told conservative filmmaker John Ziegler during an interview Monday for his upcoming documentary film, “How Obama Got Elected.” Excerpts from the interview were posted on YouTube Wednesday evening.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”

Palin said she remains subject to unfair press coverage of her and her family.

“Is it political? Is it sexism?” she asked. “What is it that drives someone to believe the worst and perpetuate the worst in terms of gossip and lies?”

She observed that Katie Couric and Tina Fey have been “capitalizing on” and “exploiting” her.

“I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year and Katie Couric’s ratings have risen,” she said. “And I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.”

The Alaska governor said that when she sees some of the coverage of her daughter Bristol especially “the momma grizzly rises up in me.”

Looking back on the Couric interviews, Palin said she knew things were not going well after their first session and asked the McCain campaign to pull the plug on the remaining sit downs but insisted the campaign made her go through with the rest.

“I knew it didn’t go well the first day, and then we gave her a couple of other segments after that. And my question to the campaign was, after it didn’t go well the first day, why were we going to go back for more?” she said. “Because of however it works in that upper echelon of power brokering in the media and with spokespersons, it was told to me that, yeah, we are going to go back for more. And going back for more was not a wise decision either.”

Palin criticized Couric for the way CBS “spliced it together,” saying that “so many of the topics brought up were not portrayed as accurately as they could have, should have, been.”

She also expressed frustration with Couric’s characterization of her since the interviews. After being shown a clip of Couric complaining to David Letterman that no post-election interviewer has asked Palin why she would not tell the CBS anchor what newspapers she reads, the Alaska governor responded: “Because, Katie, you’re not the center of everybody’s universe.”

You gotta love this woman. No matter how much they come after her, she runs smack right back. Even taking on Princess Schlossberg. Nice.

I still feel that someone in the mccain campaign was undermining Sarah by having her go on couric when they knew the perky one was trying to get a gotcha the whole interview..instead of the cupcake interview with the messiah..hopefully Sarah will call her own shots and stay away from lowlifes like the msm..

Conservatives need to continually point out SPECIFIC liberal bias in the LeftMedia.

Then, they need to refuse to cooperate with them. There is absolutely no point and no benefit to be gained in playing nice with such propagandists.

Saracuda!!!!

I watched the excerpts of this interview that were on YouTube and she is AWESOME.

It showed again what a hideous hatchet job the Mediascum did on her, and also what an incompetent campaign the McCainiacs ran -— Sarah can crush any of the other candidates that were in that race, yet the McCain camp kept her under wraps for too long and then set up those ridiculous “interviews” with Gibson and Couric.

Most of the public has NO IDEA how wonderful she is because most of the public knows only the smear campaign put out by the Mediascum.

At that time and with her popularity as high as it was there was no way the Couric interview wasn't going to look bad. She could have done the interview of her life and they were going to edit it down to present the worst image they could.

I think most of us want to see a “fighter” get out there and call the socialists and the media propagandists on their bias and their agenda.

Solid Americans like Palin have to run the gauntlet to attain any kind of high office. This means character assassination of them and anyone associated with them, pure and simple.

Our aristocrat class like Caroline Kennedy requires no scrutiny, and even when their foibles and atrocities are put on display, they're given the "loveable rogue" treatment.

We really need to destroy the media if we ever want to get our country back.

Suhweeeeeeeeeeeeet! Fight back and name names, Sarah. Don't let the cowards hide behind their organizations.

We're all rooting for you!

Caroline can’t handle Omedia’s soft touch. It would be cruel to test her with real questions from a real media.

“BridgePoint Medical”

Agreed, and this is why her handlers should have never let that interview happen. The only way she should have been exposed to the hateful and biased segment of the MSM is in short ‘live’ segments. Anyone who has ever done a network television interview knows that the final product is very much at the mercy of whoever is doing the editing and what they want to portray. The Couric interview was one of the major turning points in this election cycle, unfortunately.

She’s right. Caroline Kennedy is part of the dynasty. What does she know? She’s what is considered, an “Islander”, kinda like a “Valley Person”, which in this case she lives in Manhattan.

You know I was thinking that too. If Sarah Palin was not being undermined, I think they would of won. I feel like that John McCain put her on a leash. Regardless, Palin is a force to reckon with.

Thanks for posting the article.

Yes, Sarah became a very popular candidate. And the powers behind the curtain had already decided Obama was the choice to play King.

They had to discredit Sarah, and when they need to do that, they use the media.

And it worked.

These people are like parasites that lock onto a main nerve or neural bundle, and send pain signals to the host if their nutritional (money) needs are not met.

Right now they have bailed out the politically connected parasites; while the others, like Not for Profits, and Retired Floridians, are being sacrificed to keep the host alive (barely).

They could never allow McCain and Palin to have the reins.

They barely are surviving President Bush’s Presidency. President Bush made a quiet, but very deep, very exhaustive program of routing corruption out of government offices, agencies, politicians.

Most of it went unreported or ‘minimally’ reported, but the facts are there.

This quest will be squelched by the new administration, who have documentedly practiced corruption.

Yes Sarah,

The media is as much the enemy as jihadists.
They both have the same goals.

Only in politics is ignorance & stupidity a plus,
experience a curse.

Now, let's get the ba$t@rds.

I don’t know why everyone is objecting to Caroline being elected/selected/crowned into some government position.

At least we know she’s a natural born citizen.

Listen folks. It was the DRAMA CLUB vs. the CHESS CLUB for leadership (I say that loosely) of our country, and the DRAMA CLUB won.

Expect them to fill the ranks with DRAMA QUEENS (like there aren’t already enough of those in our ‘leadership’.
