Arizona seeks to entice California companies

Arizona is trying to poach California businesses.

The Arizona Department of Commerce announced an initiative Friday to lure companies away from California.

The program wasn't prompted by California's budget crisis, which has sparked talk of tax increases, but, "I can't say that's not part of the situation," said department spokesman David Drennon.

The first big step was to send their Gov. Idiot to Washington where she can do less damage.

Operating in Arizona

Mention the word “Arizona” and it’s only natural that notions of the Grand Canyon, luxury resorts and championship golf courses spring to mind. For many others, however, Arizona means all that and much more – a hotbed of economic opportunity and high-tech innovation.

In fact, business is so good, Entrepreneur magazine named Arizona number one in the U.S. for starting and growing business ventures in 2005 and 2006. And Chief Executive Magazine’s poll recently ranked Arizona as America’s fourth most desirable state for corporations.

Arizona is the ideal base for companies who need to reach out to the world. More than 100 foreign-owned companies now have operations in Arizona.

California offers higher taxes, more regulations, legal liabilities.

I wonder if they'll accuse Arizona of being unpatriotic for helping reduce tax burdens? LOL.

How about the USA lower tax burdens and bring back the capital?!!

“Arizona is trying to poach California businesses.”

An essential part of federalism in the Constitution. If one state becomes too greedy, people and businesses can move elsewhere.

I was appalled to learn that California has a sales tax on real estate. They require fees to go through a broker, and the broker is required to send the State’s cut to them, or the sale will not be registered.

A company I worked for in the past is moving its operations from the Bay Area to here in the valley. Good for us. Screw CA.

We see it on the border with Oregon. Regulations are easier on business in Oregon and they don’t have sales tax.

California is a dying state, ala Michigan. I say let it die. Maybe one day from the ashes of liberalism it will be rise again. But until then, let it serve as an example to all other states.

Doesn’t matter. The federal Gov’t will just confiscate the capital generated by the Arizona businesses and hand it back to California (bailout).

The Chinese sea port at Lazaro Cardenas , Mexico, will move a lot of business out of California.

A large shipping company here in Oakland left for Arizona in the past few months.

Oakland requires a living wage plus the joys of state and Federal taxes...with business licenses requirements and wacko-environmentalists watching every turn.

There are thousands of illegals, gang crime and nearly 80% of all schoolchildren qualify for free meals.

Transfer taxes on a home sale are 1.5% of the sale.

Schools are near the bottom.

All run by the likes of Feinstein, Boxer, Pelosi, Dellums, Barbara Lee, Schwartenegger and Moonbeam Brown.

The area is dominated by Democrats (Liberals) and they have effectively ground down their taxpayers to the point they must leave.

We are moving to Contra Costa in March.

Buh-bye.

Cash moves, just ask Soros and Kennedy, Far Left Liberals who preach tax hikes while keeping their own funds in offshore trusts in the West Indies and Fiji, respectively.
