COLUMBUS, Ohio - Blizzard warnings were posted across the Northern Plains early Monday as a bitterly cold wallop of snow threatens the region, while residents of the Midwest and Northeast dug out after their own tussles with weekend storms.
Arctic air was to dip down from Canada and spread snow into Montana, the Dakotas and Minnesota before marching into the Midwest, South and Northeast by the end of the week.
Parts of the Midwest and Northeast were already trying to handle up to a foot of snow that caused two large vehicle pileups - a 59-vehicle crash in New Hampshire and another in Connecticut that involved 13 vehicles.
There were at least four weekend traffic fatalities.

It was 20 this morning here in the NC mountains. Forecast for Friday is 31 for the high with 12 for the low. And I’m grateful that it will be that high after looking at the forecast for the NorthEast.
These temps remind me of the kind of weather I used to read about when I was young. Let’s see, that would have been back in the 60’s/70’s. Yeah, right about the time they were trying to frighten us with the coming ice age mantra!

Ah...Climate Change....still proof of global warming. Just like a thunderstorm is evidence of a drought.

More is forecast for the end of the week or early next week. What a tragedy if the big coronation is dampened by a blizzard! What kind of tax do you suppose they would impose if that happens...to make it warmer or colder?

You should count your blessings.
After all, just think how cold it would be without global warming................

Alaska is going to get warm because that dense pocket of cold arctic air that has been sitting up there for weeks is now gonna leave and move into the lower states.
To: Turret Gunner A20
Headed for a 24, 15, 19 and 20 down here in the Heart of Dixie this week. Looking forward to sharing some of Alaska's weather with them. NOT!!!
