David Denby seems like an okay guy: early onset dementia is no disgrace.

Mr. (?) Denby

Actually, I suspect that he’s right. But it was too boring to read all the way through. It needed to be a bit more snarky, probably.

I have seen the word “Snark” used recently to describe things I could not connect it with.
I always thought it was a Linux application:
Snark is a client for downloading and sharing files distributed with the BitTorrent protocol. It is mainly used for exploring the BitTorrent protocol and experimenting with the the GNU Compiler for Java (gcj). But it can also be used as a regular BitTorrent Client.

Is posting a picture of Catherine Zeta Jones in response to any article mentioning Maureen Dowd snarky?
Well, if it is I don't ever want the world to be snark-free.

I once saw someone wearing a T-shirt that read:

I see that I screwed up the date of this article: it should be “28 Dec 08”...

Maureen Dowd
Who: Washington columnist for the New York Times.
The Accusation: Despite all of her larks and inventions, shes essentially sour and without hope
shes the most gifted writer of snark in the country.
Now, that is a seriously snarky dig at Mo.

I appreciated bringing this fine writing from the late New York Times to the attention of Freepers, everywhere. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop.
A fine piece of writing about another writer's sad attitude (yelling from the porch) toward as ancient an American pass-time as Free Speech. It was Dead On, and I don't mean arrival. - Thanks.
