Let's pass a law requiring the earths magnetic field to STOP discharging. I think that the 1/2 life of the magnetic field is 50,000 years.

We cannot afford to let any more of it go away!v /sarcasm

Isnt the polarity of the Earth’s magnetic field supposed to “flip” every 50,000 years or so?
